I'm really heartbroken about this... when you grow with someone's music carrying you over throught your worst and best times, you inevitably become emotionally attached to the artist. Cause it gave you hope when nothing else did. Me being a former (soon current again) rock singer is just a terrible tragedy, never saw him live, but just last night I was talking with my girl about him and his career, 2 days ago I was returning to my singing practice while rehearsing some STP/VU songs. Just yesterday I was so fuckin' happy cause I realized I could drink in a bar with my friends who still do coke and I didnt feel any anxiety or cravings, in part because my girl is a great motivation and source of happiness, in part cause im growing up.

For months I was one who thought that I would die on my bed from a heart attack, in one of those many nights in which I snorted an 8ball or more by myself. This guy was so genuine it hurts, and for me he is in the great class of legendary frontmans along with Jim Morrison, Robert Plant, Perry Farrel and many more.

He would probably have appreciated this as much if not more than anything ever written, said about him.

Not (just) the comparisons to the Legends & maybe that a way distant back seat to the first part.

To know that you are holding off the Demons that destroyed Him would have made him very Happy.

You do realize commercial music since the early 00's just plain blows? I cant believe you are like 50 and never heard of this guy, but maybe back in the 90's you were too busy listening to A-Teens, Aqua, Boyz II Men or who knows what crap. I mean diff strokes for diff folks but, you do realize rock music takes 10+ times more talent to create and perform than a Taylor Swift "pop-country" tune? I mean seriously, the guys body is not even cold yet and you come here with your limited music knowledge to diminish his legacy and history.

Not very classy, and not well informed... he is a multi platinum selling artist, in a time in which selling records actually mattered.

Love this one he did with the remaining members of the doors. Scott was so talented.. You can see it on the video, even they were impressed.

Yep, he was the only lead singer besides Jim that played with the Doors, that actually caught the king snake spirit for a moment there... others tried and failed, Vedder and Astbury couldnt pull it off. Interesting enough Morrison's vocal range is easy to imitate but his darkness is elusive to most frontmen BUT Weiland, he knew darkness, and darkness knew him.

Thanks man, his life is something worth celebrating, currently organizing a free tribute concert for Mr. Weiland (ill do the vocals and Ill pay for the sound). He was so troubled yet was such an amazing guy and had such an amazing voice, I could go on for hours. I even identify more with him than Cobain, cause well, Cobain didnt like the nose candy, and Weiland dabbled with H 10 years ago, same as me... Weiland's addiction issues were so similar with mine, is just real scary, and its always a shame, partying is all fun and games until it becomes another cross to bear. I always felt we were alike in many ways. So fragile yet so feral. A true Rock Powerhouse.

Likely a few of those containing the words "Restraining Order"...in response to the hundred or so texts a day you pelter her with.
