Funny your uncle said that. The Laphroaig seems to be one of the go to scotches here for the Old Country Club gentleman. Some claim the best they've ever had...A good low budget Scotch...Grouse with just a tad of water. Single malts, I like Laphroaig ( an acquired taste as they say), McClelland's 12 year old and the aforementioned Glenlivett makes for a nice taste. My uncle when he visited from Scotland, seemed to be quite fond of J&B. The one he thought tasted like shite was Laphroaig, which surprised me. Depends on each individual's preference just like anything else.
