The Serial Killer who has been terrorizing Upstate South Carolina citizens for the past two weeks was slain last night in a police standoff. The man, Patrick Burris had committed five murders and was still at large when authorities tried to serve an outstanding warrant on an individual who happened to be Burris. Burris shot one officer in the leg in the standoff and police shot and killed Burris thus ending the crime spree. Many folks in the Palmetto State will sleep better tonight knowing this menace has been laid down.

Well I learned something here...Did not know that SC was "the Palmetto State".

And glad to know that dude was taken out before he could expand his resume any further

This should be a warning to Mark Sanford. As should the McNair death. These crazy bitches you see on the side will kill you. Those little hot little numbers from south of the border are quite skilled with a blade. So the lesson to be learned is: If your going to cheat, get yourself a nice white overweight woman who is lacking self esteem and is native of the US. This way you dont get smoked.

Technically, he's a spree killer, not a serial killer.

Really can't confirm either way, however FBI and Law Enforecement Officals on the scene refered to him as a Serial Killer. Maybe it was a crime spree and he was a Serial Killer. I think five homicides qualifies would not you agree?

If I understand the terms, a "serial killer" would be someone who has committed multiple homicides, each of which has matching motivational components.

That is, the victims had one or matching aspects (at least in the mind of the killer).

It's also possible one could commit five homicides that did not have any ties to each other, but were more a "spree" of violent acts.

Roger that Barman. Thanks for the Nod. What is so alarming about this case and the Director of Investigations made this comment at the Press Conference last night was this Patrick Burris guy had a wrap sheet over 25 pages long and had been arrested in several states on other charges before now. The Director credited a weak judicial system that allows these predators back on the streets and somewhere down the line the lawmakers are gonna have to change the rules about appeals and releases.

Friendly note to help remember a spelling

A "rap" sheet with many charges can often be long enough to wrap around your body.

Glad to hear it...I used to live down that way...He's 6 foot under now so he won't cost the taxpayers a ton on money to defend his "rights" as a serial killer.
