This is the kind of thread that makes me wonder about how some of you guys can come in here and say "how can you play at xyz book when SBR rates them d or c minus etc".. Then on the other hand a book like VIP is rated A+. there. Just doesn't make sense to me and for the record I have nothing at all against SBR and try to work with them (especially Bill Dozer) whenever possible to help a poster.

My point is if VIP is so bad how can they be rated A+ there? Take SBG Global and Sportsbook.com both D rated at SBR, is VIP that much better than them two but still as bad as you are making sound like in this thread?

SBR has been in bed with VIP since they had the most profitable affiliate terms in the industry. That is where the rating comes from. Nine.com had their ratings increased right after their affiliate terms improved as well (before joining the VIP group).

VIP is very similar to Sportsbook.com. I would give them both a D. SBG Global are thieves and should be an F in my opinion.

Betmania should obviously improve their affiliate program.

The attempt to turn this thread into something about SBR instead of the advertising book being caught with their pants down is fun to watch though.

Not sure what you are confused with about SBR and their ratings Wil, but if you are curious, feel free to start a new thread about that topic. :toast:

That is BS, the thread is about SBR ratings to begin with I didn't try to change it to anything else. Many players use SBR ratings like they are etched in stone, so a downgrade is a serious issue for any book. This is about BetMania being downgraded at SBR because of some players complaining they are being slow paid, I have no idea who these players are, or if there are any extenuating circumstances involved, or even if they really exist for that matter, there are no details at all except that SBR downgraded BetMania to C- which Iceman decided report here at The Rx. and then you decided to tell posters not to play there.

The fact is that BetMania does advertise here and it is my job to make sure these threads stay a little bit fair. That is why I posted your post from earlier this month which if you believe it means that the ratings at SBR are unfair to books like Betmania who do not have lucrative affiliate deals there.

As far as a book caught with their pants down goes sorry but this problem at BetMania is far from news, there have been several threads about the very same subject already posted about the problem on this forum. I have explained several times what the problem is and most likely will have to again until it is fixed, which I fimly believe BetMania is trying it's best to do. They lost Neteller, they lost their processor bank and are in a situation where they are limited to only two methods to pay winners, not exactly big news.

Thre truth if your statement is true I don't think books should be judged poorly by bad ratings at a website if all they have to do is make a good affiliate deal to improve the rating. Personally I am dubious that is really the case, but you, according to your statement, seem to be convinced it is.

BetMania has been most cooperative with The Rx. whenever we have contacted them on behalf of a player, something I wish I could say about all of the different books I deal with, some sponsers, some not sponsers here at The Rx..

Wil to even suggest Betmania’s recent rating decrease is based on their affiliate program is a cop out at the very best. BetOnSports had the best affiliate program and they were a D- while WSEX doesn’t even have any kind of program, much less a good one, and they are an A+. BM's problems have to do with how they are treating players presently...period.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I know you are just doing your job so no hard feelings. BM was a book we were bullish on up until a few months ago and their rating was good and reflected our bullishness. They could still be a good book some day. But their recent actions are clear and unmistakable warning signs above and beyond the challenges of processing.

We are more than ready to report their improvements and reward them with upgrades when and if they come. So forget their affiliate program, they need to focus on shooting straight with their clients and perhaps some funding.

Buzzsw, you miss my whole point, I never suggested any such thing and know why you lowered the ratings. However apparently what is good for the goose in not equally good for the gander with the SBR says this or that about a book crowd. I was simply asking why this is so and Clip Joint is the one who says you base your ratings on how lucrative a book's affiliate deal is with SBR. I am simply trying to figure out why the double standard exists.

His (Clip Joint) words not mine:

"SBR has been in bed with VIP since they had the most profitable affiliate terms in the industry. That is where the rating comes from. Nine.com had their ratings increased right after their affiliate terms improved as well (before joining the VIP group).
