A deflated ball is also less likely to be fumbled. Pats top RBs did not fumble once all season!

Doesn't matter that the score was 45-7. Cheating is cheating. It's his second offense. Probably more.

Belichick should be suspended immediately.

He goes by the motto -- "Win if you can, lose if you must, but ALWAYS CHEAT"

I hope sometime in my lifetime someone does an investigation of the NFL officials. They are all considered part time help, they all have secondery jobs. I would bet a lot of them live way over their heads . Every human has a price. For 5 million the football field would be littered with yellow flags, I would have to get rotator cuff surgery after the game. Very surprised a top magazine or newspaper has not uncovered one of them yet.

Basically what I said in post # 10. I love the way people "decide" which cheating is significant, and which isn't. The Patriots won all 3 of their Super Bowls by exactly a field goal, and the Eagles, in particular, mentioned they called blitzes from a certain set 5 times, and, lo and behold, the Patriots called screen passes on 4 of them. If the Patriots were caught cheating on the Jets, who sucked, they sure as hell could've cheated on a Super Bowl opponent, and, who benefits most, or most clearly, from knowing the other team's plays. Pretty Boy Brady, that's who-just like he's the guy who would normally benefit most from deflated footballs(and spare me the "but he had better stats in the 2nd half after they made the balls right" whine...

So what happened to the referee? It was his JOB to inspect the footballs. Once again, maybe someone in this world is not doing their job. What a surprise.

From John Madden
quote
Madden said it might be an easy task for somebody to use an inflating needle to take some air out of a football on the sideline, but wonders why take the chance because the officials should notice it.
"On every play, the ball is handled by two officials," he said. "It comes in from a ball boy to a wing official and into the spotting official, who is usually the umpire. So it's not like the officials don't touch those footballs because they do. I am surprised that if there were that many that they didn't know that."

Lmao. The Pats cheated? I guess they're the ONLY team who's ever cheated right? Damn those Patriots. Always cheating. It's entertainment first and foremost. NOT an actual game. Secondly, if you can cheat and make it to the Superbowl damn near yr in yr out? Who gives a fuck? I assure you you're stats will not be surpassed. Bilicheats will not be surpassed by anyone currently. He's a top 10 NFL head coach and will stay on that list for years to come. You think this has an affect on the team? You realize who their owner is right? Robert Kraft. NFL financial advisor for the NFL. Goodells right hand man. I dont think this "cheating" affects them that much.

This. ^^^^^^^

First real burst of Common Sense thats been injected here, Thank You.

Human Nature is to seek out an edge, amplify that by a million when playing at this level with the $$$ involved and the hopes and dreams of a city behind you. Especially a City like Boston.

Am I trying to justify "cheating"? NO. Merely saying 'grasp what wizard has said' and go weigh 2 footballs 13Lbs and 11Lbs so we can discuss this intelligently rather than emotionally like a bunch of Stoned Chicas inna parking lot ova Discoteque.

Exactly why the country has gone to hell. No one cares, no one plays above board anymore and everyone excuses it.
No matter how you slice it there is a theme with this team. If it plays no bearing on the game, why do it?
the National Fixed League at its best

Because, as I've suggested in the other thread, psi adjustment by equipment staff to what a qb likes MIGHT be the equivalent of how we drive a few miles over the posted speed limit on the freeway, just something that yes while it is against the rules we just do.

Why do we not drive exactly 65mph or lower?

Because we are criminals?

Guess so.

I guess we are all just a bunch of Law Breaking Scofflaw delinquents.

Obviously a Pats lover and that's fine. If you get caught speeding you are fined and/or license is taken away (criminal or not)
If Nascar allows a 300 hp car and so much octane in the gas and i add octane to make my car get 310 hp, and i'm a decent driver I might not win, but will be in the money.
While I dont consider this a huge issue and rules must be followed, I'm more curious to what else this team has done as I don't trust this team one bit.
Hell I could go back to the snow plow days. Fans of any team that is in question won't be objective, its that simple.
Agree to disagree, as I ill have my money on the Pats anyway in the SB. They have no choice but to win now

Obviously a guy who assumes stuff. I have no dog in this fight. My Team is whatever team i see enough expected value in to cash a ticket. That can change from week to week, sometimes even day to day. Right now "My Team" is Indina Menzel singing a 2:02:01 National Anthem, only play I have on the game only dog I have in the fight thus far.

Not a Pats Fan, I am a fan of humans using whatever intelligence they can muster to ferret out Truth rather than, as though this is some Dawn Of The Dead Movie, sloughing along with the Herd to the tune of lies and exaggeration spouted by a Media that has lost all Integrity, Dignity and Self-Esteem and serves no longer the truth but instead serves The God That Is Money.

There is no hope of me getting through to you.

Because you just do not comprehend English very well.

You are really a classy guy, attempting to insult. Was just having a conversation which obviously is a challenge for you.
Sorry to disappoint but graduated from McGill University so can comprehend a lot quite well.

That was very clearly more than just an "attempt". To call it an attempt implies that there was a question of success. There was no ambiguity in the above. You insulted ME first PickDaFix by implying my thoughts on this matter were borne completely of being a "Pats Fan" which is to say to me: "You are incapable of being objective". Surely as a College Grad you can see how you insulted me first.

Even if your degree is from a school named after a Cartoon Gorilla.

Ok, but here's a question: Who gives a fuck whether or not its deflated? Doesn't change the outcome of the game AT ALL. The Colts could've used deflated balls, and STILL would NOT have done anymore than they did. It's total bullshit for this to come out after the game. I guess Blount wouldn't have scored 3 TDs had it not been for deflated balls lmao! Thats the extreme form of reaching if I ever saw it. It's moot. They're going to lose the SB anyway...

You completely miss the point. Nobody is disputing the Pats dominance in the game, regardless of ball pressure.

Its another example of New England thumbing their nose at the rules. Spygate, Taping walk throughs, etc...

There are rules in place that should be adhered too. Yes, people in all sports try to get an advantage. Pine tar by pitchers for a better grip is one example.

Those players are also punished when caught. Pitchers get suspended when they are caught doing this.

Some may think this isn't a big deal, but to me it is. Altering ball pressure, giving your QB an advantage throwing the ball is a competitive advantage and should be reprimanded. The fact it was done by an organization that has a history of pushing the envelope, or breaking the rules, shines the light even brighter when they are the ones doing it.

you honestly think there's a level playing field in sports? There never is. The human factor or nature is take advantage of opportunities whether it's player, a coach or a biased or betting ref.

All of this show that you're a sleeze who would probably steal from a collection plate in church if you thought you could get away with it. There are few arguments so dumb as, "Why punish the Pats for cheating, EVERYBODY does it!" First of all, you have no way of knowing what everybody does, and, if nothing else, given their scumbag history, the Pats are certainly clumsier or "unluckier" than everybody else, aren't they? And, secondly, even if your premise was true, what would you have the NFL do-NOT punish the Pats when they get caught until "everybody else" is punished, too? Belicheat is such a turd, he not only insults our intelligence by trying to claim that he, one of the most hands-on, small-attention-to-detail coaches EVER, knew nothing about all of this, he, in effect, threw Brad under the bus while doing so. And, in classic "passing the buck" fashion, Pretty Boy seems to have thrown the equipment manager under the bus, which is probably the only person who is gonna suffer from all this-at least not until the Big Game is over, anyway.
