Have you guys forgotten they aquired Antawn Jamison?!Also, Walker will give them more "intensity" over Lafrenz. I mean, some are laughing, but think about it, is Lafrenz actually "better" than Walker?? No, not really, so they haven't hurt their chances at all. The only mistake they've made is not finding a way to keep Van~Exel in the trade.

Journeyman, Walker was forced to play that style because that is what Coach O'Brien wanted. He will not have that many shot attempts while playing for the Mavs and also while on the Celts Pierce and Walker had the other teams best defenders gaurding them. In Dallas teams will not be able to do that. We will see how he fits. Lets let him play and see what happens, nobody knows how it will turn out so take it easy.

I am a true Mavericks fan and watch all of their games. This is a great trade for the Mavs. Lafrenz was going to be coming off the bench because he averages a fould every 5 minutes. Fortsen is starting at center, he is a better rebounder and gets in less foul trouble than Raef. Bradley will come off the bench to play center. Jamison is going to be the sixth man now with Walker starting. The Mavs have trouble in the middle, but Raef was constantly in foul trouble and could not be counted on. They tried something with Nick and Raef in the Denver trade a few years ago, and now it's time to try something else. They have a lot better team now than they had last year. Nick was sporatic and only scored 2-6 points on many nights, he stepped it up in the playoffs though. They could still trade for Nick for the playoffs later in the year.
The Mavs still need a tough 7 footer, but Raef was not the answer. He fouls way too much and lacks confidence in his game. The Eastern conference is just what he needs though. The trade also frees up cap room for the Mavs which is a plus.
I think the Mavs are much improved now, as for Boston it may also be the best thing for them as well. From a Mavs point of view it is a very smart trade.

Mavs starters:
Nash
Finley
Fortsen
Dirk
Walker

Bench:
Tony Delk
Josh Howard(23 year old rookie to back up Finley
Tariq Abdul Wahed
Antwan Jamison(6th man)
Najera
Shawn Bradley
Travis Best
spare,spare, etc.

you got to be kidding

finly 2 guard

he wont last 2 games chasing all the shooting guards in the league

walker is cancer
.388 field goal percentage(3pt shooting happy)slow and unproductive without the ball

dallas would of done better w/ a kenyon clark type player- defence, rebounds, and scoring from putbacks and blocks starting fastbreaks

tony delk will play more than walker after 1/2 the season is over

dont they teach chemistry in texas?

who the hell is donnie nelson? whats his qualification than his overated fathers last name?

watchout my boy carmelo anthony- will be top 5 player end of next year

queen james the next kwami brown

Sounds like a Michael Jordan night except add the points from the 37 personal fouls called when he goes to the hoop.

Lafrenz plays soft 4 out of every 5 games, and gets in foul trouble 4 out of 5 games. So maybe one out of 10 games he is productive. Walker will fit in nicely in Dallas. Everyone said Van Exel was a cancer. He was a stud for Dallas in the playoffs. Winning changes things. It will do the same for Walker and Jamison. They will be happy winning and make the sacrifices of shooting less to win more. Lafrenz was content on playing his career in Denver and was never comfortable playing for an elite team. He should get better with time, Boston fans better hope so at 10 or so million per year.

After hearing some of Walker's comments and other people's comments about Walker, it turns out he really is a great guy off the court. I thought he was a jerk, but it turns out he is not. Thus, I think he is the type of person that will do what is necessary to help the Mavs, and not his ego. If that is the case, he can help the Mavs. He says he does not care about his scoring; he had to score in Boston. We shall see! I read this somewhere here: A reporter asked him after going 1 for 13 on 3's why he shot so many 3's. His reply was cause they ain't got no 4's. Classic!

walker doesnt have a fastbreak/ uptempo game.
the problem w/ walker and jamison is they have to have setplays for them to score. najera gets in good minutes everynight because he gets his 6 pts from putbacks, looseballs, steals,he doesnt and wont have any plays for him

their game is nash bringing up the ball uptempo and setting up norwitski and finly to their fav spots.

they should of traded lafrenze back to denver for the brazilian player nene def power forward or a pj brown/antonio davis/elden cambell/jerome williams type player

you guys keep stating walker will shoot less. yes but thats the only way they can contribute to the team.

funniest thing i heard walker playing point forward. he was bringing the ball up in boston in their slow halfcourt style. wont that interfere w/ nash quick uptempo fastbreak?

don/donnie nelson is the most over hyped/rated coaches in all history
