He's obviously not hype just by his numbers and age everyone knows he is the real deal. The thing that impressed me most was not the fact that he touched 98 in the 6th inning but the reason why. In all innings he probably threw 75% fastballs im guessing but they ranged from 90-99 he doesn't always rear back and gun it sometimes he takes some off the heater which is a mini changeup in itself. He works quick which i love to see in a pitcher. His curveball is deadly not so much because of the movement which is big movement for a generally speaking hard curve, again it is because of his baseball IQ he has no problem throwing one hitter 5 straight heaters then dropping a curve which got as low as 79 and as high as 86. He changes velocity on his two main pitches and it seemed from where i was sitting his arm angle changed a bit also.he also threw 4 straight curves to jacque jones tonight whose been in the bigs before with multiple teams and jones looked like i would out there. He's fearless and intelligent if his changeup develops like it should in a year or two he will be simply amazing. He has the smarts he can touch the corners and fearless. I was utterly impressed and this after seeing Liriano, aroldis chapman the cuban defecto still in triple A and a few others that have been studs in the majors and they do no compare to Strasburg at all.
Congrats to him for dealing with all the hype so far and handling it well, wish him the best in the majors.
