Dayton -12 -Dayton comes into this game at 59th in ppg allowed, 81st in fg % allowed, and 80th in defensive rebounding. Your thinking thats good but nothing spectacular right? What if I told you that their strength of schedule is ranked 8th in the country and 7th in the country for non conference play! Today they face Lasalle on the other hand who is only averaging 67.8 ppg and that is coming against a sos that is 127th and 164th in the country. Huge difference I see here. Lasalle does not rank inside the top 225 in any of the 5 defensive categories so this should help a Dayton team be able to score as well. Not to mention Lasalle is 205th or lower in every offensive category. Dayton averages 74.6 ppg and Lasalle gives up 74.1 ppg so I don't think Dayton should have a problem scoring and on the other end Lasalle may struggle to put up points. The other two defenses that Lasalle faced that were this good or better were Miami who they scored 49 against at home and Villanova who they scored 47 against. They lost to those two teams by 46 and 29 points. Thats a large deficit. Lasalle is 3-4 overall at home and 1-5 ats. Dayton on the other hand is 2-0 away covering both games. Those games were against a Duquesne who is 10-5 and far better offensively than Lasalle and the other was against Vandy and Vanderbilt. Another problem I see for Lasalle is they have a player out with a knee injury that averages 6 ppg with 5 rpg as well and another player that is questionable with illness that averages 6 ppg. Dayton does have a good player in Pollard who is questionable with achilles injury but he's not a starter and either way I think they cover this spread. Lasalle is 1-6 ats this year and the only game they covered was last game at Fordham. Fordham my friends are not the Flyers. Fordham has a sos that is 303rd in the nation. Dayton I remind you is 8th. Far too much experience against good teams and victories to prove it for Dayton and I don't see how this Lasalle team will be able to score enough points to keep this close. Dayton brings the lock down D with them on the road today Flyers soar!
Good Luck guys!
