Could someone explain to me how San Fransisco, who sometimes scores 4 runs in a week, scores 4 runs in the ninth?

At least it was only 1/2 a unit.

4-4 +1.86 for the day

106-85 +39.74.

The freakin Giants.

TN, please help me out. Yesterday I made the exact same bets as you at almost the exact same juice you bet them (also at MatchBook). I ended up +0.93 unit for the day. Please don't take this as someone questioning you or trying to correct you -- I am new to the forum and quite frankly new to MLB wagering so I am trying to figure out where I am wrong.

My bets were:
Atlanta +116 2 units (L)
Houston +103 2 units (L)
Arizona O 8 -109 2units (W)
San Diego +118 2 units (W)
Cincinnati -105 2 units (W)
Cincinnati -1.5, +159, 1/2 unit (L)
NYYankees +100 2 units (L)
Seattle -150 2 units (W)

I assume I have done something wrong in my bets or calculations. I would appreciate help from you, or any of the others that might read this, so I can figure out what I am doing that cost me the extra unit you picked up and I didn't.

Thanks

TN - Like that the Rockies are the small fav, but are offered at +1.5 on the RL (instead of the -1.5 you'd expect to find).

maddog - check your math. As posted, your 4 losers = -6.5; your 4 winners = +8.36. Therefore 8.36 -6.5 = + 1.86.

I think I know where you went wrong. You probably put "to win" 2 units on each bet. The way you should bet is 2 units to win on dogs, and to win 2 units on favs. That's how TN bets, and how the majority (myself included)bets. You probably didn't get back enough on the winning Seattle wager (at -150).

In Matchbook there is the Stake and Profit boxes... so instead of inserting the what would equate to 2 units in the Stake box I should have put what would equate to 2 units in the Profit box?

Sorry Mindware, I guess that is exactly what I'm doing... everyone needs to learn how to stop doing stupid things. I apologize to all that may be offended by my question.

If you are playing a favorite, put your 2 unit value in the profit box....if you are playing the underdog, put your 2 unit value in the stake box

"x" units means:

for fav's (-): wagering "y" amount to win "x" units
for dogs (+): wagering "x" units to win "y" amount

Thanks Mike and Iceman, I understand now... I have always put my bets in the Stake box and let it calculate the profit. I appreciate the feedback.
