r1: catsalot. i suppose win allison win deserves some mutuel support, but 6/5 is not good value on a filly who just bested catsalot by a length two starts back. 'lot ran well up north and at 4/1 or so, she's the play for me.

r7: olympic street. kitchimgan colt could not have looked worse in his debut at fairplex and subsequent disaster last october. this son of street cry is probably much better than shown and need really only outrun singer island and gallatin's run to make some noise.

r8: canyon drive. truest legend, the ellis colt is supposed to be all the rage on the backstretch and is being bet like he's the next coming, so i'll use this opportunity to take a shot with baffert's second off the shelf colt who has shown more than a little bit of promise in his short career and need only improve a bit to pose a big problem for the rest.

r9: aitcho. i've always liked this guy, despite his pedigree which doesn't exactly scream 9 furlongs. with the exception of song of navarone, whom i have a lot of respect for, the rest of this motley crew isn't very formidable, particularly for a G2, which was won almost 15 years ago by my all-time favorite horse, the wicked north.
