let's take a crack at today's card.
r2: mistery slippery. this one has dropped a couple of decisions to others in here, so i'm expecting a good price on this greely trainee, who is bred to be a lot better than shown. in this his second start off the bench, i look for him to go much much better in here with solis.
r4: old chinese copy. lynch can train and this golden eagle homebred has been working in solid fashion for a few months. while souvenir copies have not run that well first time out, i think this one can surprise in here if nakatani can get him running early.
r6: excellent event. rarely back a maiden claimer stepping up to special weights in southern cal, but i like the looks of this jory charge. he ran a damn good race routing on dirt in his debut, a notoriously difficult task, and now gets a surface switch that should move him up. with all the other blue bloods in here, i like the price and he could just jump up and bite 'em at a good number.
r7: lion heart is a monster. play against him at your own peril.
r9: mary swanson. going to take a flyer with this 30-1 morning line shot- this field absolutely stinks and with the exception of tough talker, none of the debut runners exactly instils fear in me. i'm going to bet that marty jones can get 'swanson to improve in here; she may ultimately show her best stuff ( i use the word best in the most relative and loose sense), but perhaps tyler can get her away quicker and she can pick up some pieces in here. small play, but she'll light up the tote if she wins.
good luck
