Key Stat: Man City have won eight of their last 12 away matches

Expert Verdict: Manchester City put up a decent fight away to Barcelona on Wednesday before eventually going out of the Champions League but the scheduling has done them no favours with this early start. City are still vulnerable defensively and taking both teams to score looks the best bet.

Recommendation: Both teams to score

Key Stat: Aston Villa have lost seven of their eight home games against top-half sides this season

Expert Verdict: Villa Park has been a happy hunting ground for the top teams in the Premier League this season and leaders Chelsea should take all three points. The Blues have won four of their last five away games and may well overpower an Aston Villa side who tend to run out of steam in the second half of matches.

Recommendation: Draw-Chelsea

Key Stat: Brentford are unbeaten in their last ten League One away games

Expert Verdict: Leyton Orient have showed great determination to stay in the automatic promotion hunt but their hopes could fade with a loss to promotion rivals Brentford at the Matchroom Stadium. The Bees have lost just one league game in the last five months and have chalked up three successive clean sheets.

Recommendation: Brentford

Key Stat: Rangers have won 26 of their 28 league matches this season

Expert Verdict: Rangers’ stroll to the League One title was complete on Wednesday and it's hard to see anything other than victory for the unbeaten Gers when they host second-placed Dunfermline at Ibrox. Ally McCoist's side ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in a cup tie last month and something similar is on the cards.

Recommendation: Rangers 3-0

Key Stat: West Brom have taken just two points from five away games against bottom-half teams

Expert Verdict: West Brom stumbled closer to the relegation zone with a home defeat to Manchester United last weekend and their poor form against teams in the bottom half could continue at Swansea. The Swans aren't in great nick but they've won six of their eight games against the bottom five and can compound the Baggies' gloom.

Recommendation: Swansea

Key Stat: Twenty four of Stoke's 31 points have come at the Britannia this season

Expert Verdict: Despite sitting in mid-table, neither Stoke nor West Ham can afford to rest on their laurels with just a six-point cushion from the relegation mix. The Potters’ form at the Britannia has been a feature of their six-season stay in the Premier League and it may well be to their advantage against the Hammers.

Recommendation: Stoke

Woodbine Harness: Saturday 3/15 Analysis
By Greg Gangle
DRF HARNESS

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: APPRENTICE HANOVER (2nd)

Spot Play: POUVOIR DUHARAS (11th)

Race 1

(7) MEGO MOSS has the speed and now enters the Auciello barn. That's a positive note. (9) ROSE RUN ORIANA has won three straight and is certainly able to overcome the outside. She's at the same level with MacDonald at the helm. (1) MOONTAN has been racing very consistently and is a logical option for the triactor.

Race 2

(5) APPRENTICE HANOVER hasn't been defeated since November. He's the horse to beat. (1) MODERN LEGEND draws inside, has all kinds of back class and is a top threat in here. (3) IN COMMANDO has been racing spectacular as of late. He finished a solid second last week and is on his game.

Race 3

(2) OAKLEA VICTOR draws inside, is fresh off a win and comes out of Moreau's barn. (5) TURBO DONATO gets needed post relief for Team Baillargeon. He's versatile and due for a big effort. (1) ITS PAYDAY FRIDAY is blessed with the rail and needed certainly has the speed. He'll need to mind his manners this week.

Race 4

(4) SING FOR ME GEORGE might offer a fair price based on his first start back. I like the way he qualified, he gets McNair in the bike and draws well. (3) COOL ROCK drops in class, draws inside which should set him up well for his patented late kick. (8) UP THE CREDIT should offer a price. He's got tons of back class and a North America Cup trophy to his credit. He's capable in his first start back.

Race 5

(3) RECKON IM READY drops in class where he won two straight in recent weeks. (10) DESIGNER GENES was a dominant winner in her latest and will need to overcome post 10. (1) SIX BAX draws the rail, drops in class and may offer a fair price for the triactor.

Race 6

(4) BROCKS FORTUNE was a comfortable winner last week for MacDonald. He draws well again and will get a lot of attention. (6) DONAU enters the Auciello barn, gets Jamieson aboard and that will lower his price. (8) KINDLY POET is $460 shy of $1 million in purse earnings. He's certainly capable in this field.

Race 7

(2) THORN IN YOUR SIDE was aggressively driven last week by MacDonald and it hurt his chances. He drops in class and will look for a cleaner trip. (4) CASIMIR JITTERBUG hasn't been at his best in recent weeks, but is hard to not consider at this level. (5) I SCOOT SAM has been racing very consistently and hasn't missed the board in four straight weeks.

Race 8

(7) K G DRAGONATOR has won two straight, moves up in class and retains Waples in the bike. (4) JC ONTHEBEACH is a top candidate in this class with an inside post and versatility. (2) THE REV draws inside, comes out of McNair's barn and should be even better in his third start back.

Race 9

(4) QUIT SMOKING NOW gets post and class relief. He's at the bottom level and will look for a turnaround effort. (2) SOMBRERO HALL draws inside and raced well at this level last week. (7) NORTHERN SPARK hasn't turned out well since the claim by Johnson. He should offer a fair price this week and has back class in his favour.

Race 10

(1) WONDERFUL CHARM draws the rail and has won three of her last four. (7) TRUE REFLECTION has won two straight and been racing at her best. She continues to improve this season. (8) D GS PESQUERO has been racing at her best this season. She hasn't missed the board in six starts and comes out of the Moreau barn.

Race 11

(2) POUVOIR DUHARAS gets needed post relief with Drury in the bike. He closed very well in his last two and should be better placed this week. (6) BURNING SHORE has the speed, raced very well last start at high odds and will look for the same type of trip. (3) CAMS TUX hasn't missed the board in his last three and draws inside with Jamieson in the bike.

Race 1 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 3 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 7 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 80 - 286 / $459.10 BEST BETS: 12 - 23 / $38.50

Best Bet: SEE AND SKI (1st)

Spot Play: CODE WORD (8th)

Race 1

(3) SEE AND SKI was a highly regarded 3-year-old in the Casie Coleman barn that just didn’t get his act together last year. This guy has plenty of ability and could be a major force in this series. (1) STARS ABOVE has the early speed needed to make good use of the inside post, but has lacked the desire to pass at this level. (8) BURKENTINE HANOVER drew worst but is hard to toss.

Race 2

(6) GOLDEN RECEIVER was used hard to make the front and paid the price last time. This field should set up with a slightly better pace scenario. (2) ALLSTAR LEGEND might have won with a more patient drive last week. He has been sharp since arriving in the Burke barn. (5) EASY AGAIN remains in fine form but might be a step slower than the top two.

Race 3

(4) FATEFUL CHOICE took a nice tour of the track while getting a solid mile under his belt. In what looks like the easiest of the three divisions of the Hirt series, I can see this guy improving enough to have a shot. (1) ANDREW LUCK gets an inside draw and reunites with Tetrick. (3) AMERICHI is eligible to step up for the powerful Burke stable.

Race 4

(6) MARINER SEELSTER faces an awful group and one that seems to lack early speed. If Miller elects to leave and faces little resistance, this race could be over. (5) URGENTLY was okay last week in his second start on Lasix. I think that was a tougher group he faced. (1) CASINO KING is certainly capable of beating these.

Race 5

(8) ONE THROUGH TEN returned from a three-plus month break with an even effort last week. David Miller had some other decent options in here and stuck with this guy, so I’m guessing we’ll see more this time around. (2) KOSTAS WINE was one of the horses that lost the services of Miller. This 4-year-old is sharp and looks like a clear player. (3) BUCKEYE IN CHARGE is certainly feeling it now. (1) K SLATER drops down a level.

Race 6

(2) SHOOBEES PLACE has been stuck with outside posts since moving up to this level. Seven-year-old remains reasonably sharp and seems to be in a softer spot. (1) GUNS AN ROSES had no real shot in his debut for this barn; another chance. (7) UP UP AND OUT has the speed to mix it up early and should be a factor. (4) SILENT SWING was stuck uncovered in his last start here at this level.

Race 7

(7) SIMPLY BUSINESS took a bunch of air in his second start for trainer Mark Silva. There are no killers signed on to this race and with a better trip, he should be able to make some noise. (4) HRUBYS N LUCK steps up in fine form. (6) DUEL IN THE SUN had trouble keeping up with some salty competition in his return qualifier. I’m guessing he will need a start but there is ability here.

Race 8

(6) CODE WORD was caught in a very fast mile against some upper-echelon foes last week. After 2 1/2 months on the shelf, he wasn’t up to that kind of mile. Now he drops down and finds a sweet spot. (3) TARPON HANOVER seems to be cursed lately. Last week he was sitting in a prime spot when the horse in front of him broke. (1) KEEP GOING is back on the mile track where I think he does his best work; capable.

Race 9

(6) STALLONE BLUE CHIP moves inside a few slots and drops to the basement conditions level. He is very capable of scoring and probably at a fair mutuel. (1) THAT’S JUSTICE can’t get over the top but is clearly sharp. (8) SHARK FANTASY scored at first asking for Burke/Gingras. (7) BETTOR B finished with plenty of late life in his first start since November; dangerous. (5) SHARK ON BOARD gets a barn change and lured Callahan off #1.

Race 10

(9) PIERCE gets some major class relief on Saturday and has no excuses. (3) NEW KIND was hopelessly trapped two starts back and in too tough last time; underlay? (7) WEST MATTERS gets a new driver but remains 0-for-10 lifetime.

Race 11

(2) ALEXAS JACKPOT raced evenly against many of these last time and now draws better. Gelding appears to be as fast as most of these and should offer plenty of value. (9) WAKE UP PETER is the horse to beat in the series but the outside post could pose a few problems. (4) RIVER RUN FOR RYAN was sharp last week.

Race 12

(8) BETTORS GLASS took plenty of air and dug in like a champion last time. He bumps back up but may have picked up some confidence. (2) MOJO TERROR tackled much tougher last time and should be a player. (4) ROAD UNTRAVELLED gets class relief.

Race 13

(5) SPARTACUS PV took a shot uncovered and faded last time. He drops from C-1 to C-2 tonight. (4) STORM THE BEACH got a class break last time and now post relief. (2) ALLSTAR BLUES should flash speed. (3) SIR MELOS Z TAM has at least an exotics shot with a smooth trip.

Yonkers: Saturday 3/15 Analysis
By Matt Rose
DRF HARNESS

MEET STATS: 69 - 216 / $387.90 BEST BETS: 12 - 17 / $48.90

Best Bet: DREAM OUT LOUD N (11th)

Spot Play: SALEVSTER STALLION (1st)

Race 1

(3) SALEVSTER STALLION totally aired it out on the front end last week and staggered late; I'm giving the veteran a chance to bounce back tonight with better rating. (1) GIDDY UP BLACKFLY closed with pace last out and he'll be much more involved from this inside post. (2) THIRTY TWO RED had a touch of finishing pace last week but was driven into a wall of horses; he can be best of the rest from this spot.

Race 2

(5) MAYTIME TERROR raced well off a tough trip last week. He stays at the same level tonight and should be able to score. (3) FRESH N FAST steps up off a solid score and he keeps Sears. (2) NATHAN FEELSGOOD returned locally and was in too tough; he gets class relief tonight.

Race 3

(2) LISTOWEL hasn't been all that great in his last few but he drops back down in class and faces a soft group. (1) WAYNE THE LEFTY just missed last week but he probably should have won. (4) WESTERN DAKOTA has plenty of back class and would have been my choice if a catch driver was in the sulky.

Race 4

(4) MYSTIC DESIRE didn't do much versus claimers in his first seasonal start. Note than Brennan chose him over two other horses, including a Burke-trained rival. (1) GAMBLERS TALE will almost certainly be sitting no worse than the pocket from this spot. (2) BETTOR DESIGN stays at the same level off last week's big upset score.

Race 5

(1) DENVER DOLLY was a solid two-move winner when last at this level; Bartlett should work out a perfect trip from this spot. (4) DIGITAL Z TAM debuts for Garcia-Herrera via claim; interesting. (8) DREAMLANDS ART fits with these but is stuck outside again.

Race 6

(2) SAPPHIRE CITY gets class and post relief; legit Open-caliber horse should get the job done tonight. (3) ARACACHE HANOVER is another with plenty of class but the Burke trainee is a certified money-burner. (1) HERE WE GO AGAIN was a winner at this level two back but he faces tougher stock tonight.

Race 7

(5) MACHAL JACKSON is up in class off a good closing effort and the O'Sullivan trainee faces no standouts here. (2) RELENTLESS G draws inside and looms a threat with Brennan picking up the drive. (3) TRACK MASTER D gets Pierce and maybe the fresh hands wakes him up.

Race 8

(1) SPECIAL FORCES was shuffled a bit from the pocket last out and didn't fire late; Burke trainee can control the action from this spot. (2) EIGHTEEN toured the track from post eight in last; he'll obviously be closer tonight. (3) RUSSLEY RASCAL N went a long trip on the rim last week and didn't tire that badly.

Race 9

(1) FOUR STARZ TRACE has been a good money earner for Llopez and this looks like a perfect spot. (3) ESPEN DE VIE returns locally and was a fast-closing winner at this level four back. (2) ELECTRIC SHOOTER gets some post relief, is capable with these but this barn has had some trouble getting off the ground this year.

Race 10

(4) MONTREAL PHIL toured the track in his couple from tough posts; he moves in a bit tonight and the Lachance trainee should be more involved. (2) YO CHEYENNE ROCKY returned locally last week and barely got the job done; Pierce sticks with him. (7) SKY IS THE LIMIT raced pretty well in defeat last out and he could be a closing threat at a price.

Race 11

(1) DREAM OUT LOUD N drops again, draws best and should have no problems taking care of these. (3) HI HO STEVERINO woke up with a solid two-move effort versus lesser last week; sharp sort bears following. (2) OPEN WATER has been sharp in most of his recent effort and he can save ground here and flash late pace.

Race 12

(7) FLEM N EM N has been sharp in his last few and the Fraley barn has been live recently; this is a tough spot in an evenly-matched field but he could be a juicy price from this post. (3) HANG TEN drops a notch in his second seasonal start. (5) CHINA GRILL drops back to the level of his recent win but that was from an inside post where he controlled the action; Lachance may be off the pace tonight.

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#4 BOLD PERSPECTIVE (ML=6/1)
#8 C D GOLD (ML=5/2)

BOLD PERSPECTIVE - Lopez and Fawkes teamed up together are a handicapper's friend. I like horses that return to a similar class level after dropping at least 5 class-rating points like this one did last time out. I believe he'll be competitive at this class. C D GOLD - Took a big class drop last out, and I think he may have needed it. Ness enters him at a similar level today. I'd expect an improved performance. I have to like this gelding's chances of winning at the shorter trip. Entered a $12,500 Claiming race at Gulfstream in the last race and raced in the slop finishing seventh. Should do better right here.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CHEPSTOW (ML=3/1), #3 SALT WATER COWBOY (ML=4/1), #2 ON WITH THE SHOW (ML=5/1),

CHEPSTOW - Not probable that the speed fig he notched on March 2nd will hold up in this event. SALT WATER COWBOY - This thoroughbred likes to be in the money, but doesn't usually finish on top. Forget the top spot. ********** a most unsatisfactory fig last time out in a $6,250 Claiming race on February 23rd. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that fig. ON WITH THE SHOW - In any event of 6 furlongs, I like to back a contender that has been on the board in short distance contests recently.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - BOLD PERSPECTIVE - Has been racing regularly since a freshening. Based on my data, horses hit their peak cycle in their 3rd or 4th race back. Watch out for this one right here.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 6 TOMMY HOLLYWOOD 7/5

# 7 SCAT CAT GRAVY 6/1

# 1A I AM THE BIG DOG 2/1

TOMMY HOLLYWOOD has a very good shot to take this race. He must be considered given the quite good speed numbers. Put up a solid Equibase Speed Figure in the last race. Can run another good one in this affair. His chances to win are much better this time out facing this less demanding lot. SCAT CAT GRAVY - I expect a decent performance from this horse whose trainer has one of the best return on investment percentages with horses running at this distance and surface. Must be given consideration based on the very good Equibase speed fig garnered in the last contest. I AM THE BIG DOG - The average class figure of 8 makes this entrant hard to beat. Will almost certainly compete strongly in the early pace battle which bodes well with this field.

#7 ANGEL OVER ME (ML=6/1)
#5 RUNAWAY ABACO (ML=5/2)
#1 CHICAGO RUHLS (ML=6/1)

ANGEL OVER ME - You always have to be on the lookout for money making jock/trainer teams; we have one right here. You have to be keen on that last race speed figure, 56, which is the best last race speed fig of this field. RUNAWAY ABACO - Campbell drops her down to this class. You don't need too much more handicapping knowledge to figure that this horse will be tough to beat at this level. This horse coming off a solid contest in the last month is a solid contender in my opinion. CHICAGO RUHLS - Last time, was entered in a race at Hawthorne in a race with a class figure of 79. Dropping a significant amount in class rating in today's event puts her in a solid position in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 VELVET KAY (ML=3/1), #3 PUSHIN UP DAISY (ML=9/2), #8 IMAGINE I'M EASY (ML=8/1),

VELVET KAY - This horse just hasn't looked fit lately. PUSHIN UP DAISY - Hard to keep chasing this kind of 'hanger' horse. This mare has had countless races at Hawthorne and still no victories. IMAGINE I'M EASY - On a downward cycle. Equibase speed figures keep declining. This vulnerable equine ran a run-of-the-mill speed rating last race out. She shouldn't run much better and will probably lose in today's event running that figure. Hard to bet on these non-winning types at less than generous odds.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 6 CENTRE COURT 5/1

# 7 TAPICAT 3/1

# 5 PARRANDA 5/2

CENTRE COURT is my choice. Ought to be given a shot here on the basis of the numbers in the speed department alone. Don't overlook this mare in your bets - very dangerous with Leparoux aboard. Looks to have a quite good class edge based on the recent company kept. TAPICAT - When this jockey and handler team up, players often make money. Can't overlook the connections here, a 20 winning percentage, one of the strongest at getting into the winner's circle. PARRANDA - This mare looks good in this competition since Garcia has a solid win percentage with horses going this distance. Should keep the strong string of finishes intact this time around.

RACE #4 - 2:00 PM
The Irish O'Brien Stakes
6½ FURLONGS DOWNHILL TURF COURSE STAKES $100,000.00 PURSE

#2 DANCINGTOTHESTARS
#5 CIAO BELLA LUNA
#4 TRIBAL SPY
#1 BOLLER BOMB

#2 DANCINGTOTHESTARS takes a class drop (-9) this afternoon, and has recorded "POWER RUN PERFORMANCES" in each of his last five outings, hitting the board in a pair, including a "POWER RUN WIN" in his 3rd race back, facing better company (+2) in that race than he will face in this stakes test today. #5 CIAO BELLA LUNA is the overall speed leader in this field sprinting at, or about, today's distance of 6½ furlongs on the turf, and comes off a "POWER RUN WIN" facing slightly better company (+1) in his last start.

RACE #8 -AQUEDUCT - 4:41 PM EASTERN POST
The Cicada Stakes
6.0 FURLONGS THREE YEAR OLD FILLIES STAKES $100,000.00 PURSE

#5 MAMDOOHA
#6 MISS BEHAVIOUR
#1 JONESIN FOR JERRY
#9 ROCK ME MAMA

Well folks ... as a graduate from Clemson with a degree in Entomology (the study of insects) ... this race is not named for the insect in the emtomological order of Homoptera, but is named for Cicada who was bred by Mrs. M. N. Sarian, owned by Meadow Stable, and trained by J. H. Hayes. She was voted champion 2-year-old filly in 1961, champion 3-year-old filly in 1962, and champion handicap filly or mare in 1963. As a 2-year-old she won such stakes races as the Gardenia, Frizette, Astarita, Matron, Spinaway, Schuylerville, National Stallion Stakes (Filly Division), and the Blue Hen. In her 3-year-old year, she captured the Jersey Belle, Beldame, Mother Goose, Acorn, Kentucky Oaks, and the Oaks Prep. She returned as a 4-year-old and was victorious in the Sheepshead Bay Handicap, Vagrancy Handicap, Distaff Handicap, and the Columbiana Handicap. Here in the 22nd renewal of this race, #5 MAMDOOHA has hit the board in each of her four career starts to date, winning three times in this recent streak of racing consistency, including a "POWER RUN WIN" in her last start. Jockey Eddie Castro has been in her irons on two previous occasions, winning 'em both, and is back today for his 3rd ride, gunning for a "Hat Trick Win!" #6 MISS BEHAVIOUR is the overall speed leader in this field, and has hit the board in "POWER RUN FASHION" in four of her last five outings, including a trio of "POWER RUN WINS" being embedded in this recent streak of racing consistency.

Oaklawn - Race #10 - Post: 6:04pm - Stakes - 8.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $600,000 Class Rating: 104 Rebel S. (Grade 2)

Rating: Golden Dollar

#3 TAPITURE (ML=9/5)
#7 STREET STRATEGY (ML=8/1)
#5 HOPPERTUNITY (ML=10/1)
#2 RIDE ON CURLIN (ML=12/1)

TAPITURE - He must like the track here. He just won over the track after shipping in. A horse coming back this soon after a nice outing is a good sign. The improved Equibase speed figures over the last three races is strong. Asmussen drops him in this event fit and ready to go. STREET STRATEGY - Has discovered a great spot this time around. HOPPERTUNITY - This colt should give a strong account of himself in today's race. RIDE ON CURLIN - This colt is almost always in the money. This colt is in exceptional form right now. Ended up third last out and comes back soon. Last race at Oaklawn, he broke from the far outside. I don't need an advanced degree like The Brain to tell me his inside post position today should help.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 STRONG MANDATE (ML=2/1), #8 KOBE'S BACK (ML=7/2),

STRONG MANDATE - Doubtful that the fig he recorded on February 17th will hold up in this race. KOBE'S BACK - Don't think this racer is worth 7/2 in this affair.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
#7 STREET STRATEGY is the play if we get odds of 7/1 or better
