KEY STAT: Since Jose Mourinho’s return, Chelsea’s record against last season’s top four reads W6, D2, L0

EXPERT VERDICT: Liverpool would love to get revenge on Chelsea after the Blues won a crucial match at Anfield in April but the two sides have gone in opposite directions since that game. Chelsea’s Diego Costa has taken no time to adapt, while Liverpool, who scored 101 league goals last term, lost Luis Suarez in the summer and have struggled badly in the Premier League.

RECOMMENDATION: Chelsea

KEY STAT: Man City have beaten QPR by more than a goal in just one of four Premier League meetings

EXPERT VERDICT: Manchester City have found QPR resilient opponents in their four Premier League meetings, so they could be set for a bit of a grind in west London. City should still come out on top, but recent performances have been unconvincing and QPR have shown plenty of spirit lately.

RECOMMENDATION: Man City to win 2-1

KEY STAT: Southampton have conceded one goal in five home games

EXPERT VERDICT: High-flying Southampton continue to impress. They remain unbeaten at home this season and have won seven of their last eight Premier League fixtures. Leicester began well but their recent form is a worry. The Foxes haven’t won in five games and haven’t scored in their last three outings.

RECOMMENDATION: Southampton
