Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #957 Saturday Free Pick OVER the total in St Louis Cardinals vs Atlanta Braves @ 7:15 ET - I had a big play on this match-up yesterday and lost. It happens and certainly I am not happy about it but the key is in the response today and I am expecting a huge day. I am using this same match-up today as a my free pick and expecting an easy win. The Braves pounded out 11 hits yesterday in their 5-1 win over the Cardinals. Atlanta has now averaged 6 runs and 11 hits per game their last 9 games. As for St Louis, they've now been held to just 1 run in back to back games but they previously had won 4 straight games and averaged scoring 6.5 runs per game. Look for them to bounce back here as they take advantage of facing Max Fried. The Braves southpaw has made only 5 starts in his MLB career. He has a 1.57 WHIP in his last 3 MLB start and has been hit hard in the last two road starts he has made. Fried also struggled with command in his lone start this season and that was at home. The Cardinals Luke Weaver is off of a strong start but that truly came out of nowhere. In his 3 prior starts he allowed 4 earned runs in each start and Weaver compiled a 7.04 ERA in those 3 starts. New York is 8-28 their last 36 games and has even lost 10 of their last 13 with deGrom on the mound! The Marlins entered this series off of 3 straight losses but, prior to the 3 losses, Miami had won 12 of their 20 previous games. Miami got back on track yesterday and certainly they are playing much better baseball of late than the Mets are.
