Jeez, Joe. THis has been awful start to the summer turf - almost everywhere. Hell I just went through the Gulfstream card / scratches. They don't even have one turf race carded for today.
So Saratoga is basically out. It was raining hard at Monmouth at the end of the card yesterday. And there were storms passing through Ellis yesterday. Maybe we get Woodbine. Not enough!!
When are you guys going to be at the track this season? I'm going to be up there for my son's ring ceremony on Travers weekend. A lot going on Saturday at WP, but I will probably be there for Sunday's races. I gave him a choice of the track or the Sox/Yankees game. We'll see. My guess is he chooses wisely and makes the old man happy.
Looking again at yesterday's races, Jose and Irad with 3 winners each, Prat, Rosario, and Carmouche with 2 each. That's it. If you don't have the Ortiz brothers and/or Flava Flav on your tickets you might as well tear them up. I found myself on Franco and Santana far too often. Will not make that mistake today.
Niko, i usually make last second plans when heading to the track, I know I'm going this Wednesday and next Sunday. Mich. is planning day trips possibly the first 2 saturdays in August but I'm attending a wedding both those days, let me know if you plan on attending this summer and I can try to take a ride up to have a beer with you and watch a few races.
