Race 6
#4 CANT DO THE DANSE (4/1) was claimed up North for $8K by Jonathan Wong, who is firing at a 34 percent clip on our lesser circuit. That said, this runner has plenty of speed, gets a 7-pound weight-break
#6 DEKKO (ARG) (5/1) came off a year layoff in June and ran a good second going 6.5-furlongs. He followed that up with a better-than-looked third when stretching out (he dueled through fastfractions and tired). In his most recent race, he set off for the lead and never looked back at this level, winning at 21/1. He’s needed a little time since that race, but his speed makes him dangerous.
#8 CARLSBAD MOUNTAIN (6/1) came off a near-year layoff to dominate $25K/N2L foes when going 6.5-furlongs. He hit the shelf again after that and has yet to regain that form. In his defense, he had to break from the rail twice, which he didn’t seem to like. He looks like a fit here getting off the rail and stretching out.
race 7
#4 WIN THE SPACE (8/1) ran in the Arkansas Derby (G1) as a maiden and was only beaten 10-1/2lengths by American Pharaoh. He did, however, need a switch to the turf to finally break his maiden, which he did nicely at Del Mar. He’s a 3-year-old who has some ability, so I expect him to out run his odds today. He’s been freshened and the blinks go back on.
#5 YOU KNOW I KNOW (8/1) New trainer Desormeaux tried him twice on the turf to no avail, so the switch back to dirt should help this old class horse—and today’s level might be where he now belongs. He’ll be running late—and he should have some pace to close into
#7 GOT EVEN (9/2) he has such sharp speed that he’s always a threat, last time at 9/1, and he was headed late—but he showed some real grit. He’ll be on the lead again, with several others breathing down his neck. One of these days, he’ll hang on.
#11 CHIEF OF STAFF (7/2) pushed Got Even last time but couldn’t out-game him for the place money in a one-mile affair. He’s likely to get the same trip today from this outside post, Bejarano stays put, which is a plus, but this 3-year-old will need to show more fight in the lane.
race 8
#7 GLOBAL MAGICIAN (5/2) fires every time, but he hasn’t been able to get his second win since he broke his maiden in his debut. he is cutting back from a very solid one-mile event to today’s sprint .....BEST BET to win
#11 PAY THE FINE (3/1) . He ran a nice dirt race at Del Mar to just miss at this level, and I think the return to the downhill should give this 3-year-old a very good chance today.
#8 PATHWAY TO YES (8/1) has two wins over this course, so that counts for something despite his last two races. I’m willing to forgive his downhill try against $32K claimers, where he pulled early and was never allowed to let loose the way he likes to. He’s got plenty of early speed, so with the bug-boy Kennedy named to ride, expect a better effort today.
race 9
#8 CASS IN STONE (7/2) was claimed off retard Eric Guillot last time, he set a slowpace at Los Al only to get overtaken late, losing as the 9/5 favorite. New trainer O’Neill takes off the blinkers and legs up Bejarano. massive upgrade on all levels.
#5 TRAVEL BOUND (8/1) is a Mark Glatt trainee coming off a layoff and dropping, also adds blinkers. $$$$$ play ....glatt always deadly with these 3 scenario's
PICK 4

R7 4,5,7,11
R8 7,8,11
