Just saw in the local paper that SJSU head coach Fitz Hill announced he is resigning as head coach of the Spartans.

He will still coach the final home game against Fresno St. then move on the Central Florida where he accepted a professor position.

This game against Fresno St. will most likely be his last as a football coach.

That being said...he was quoted saying

``All I want on Saturday is a victory and a dunk of cold water after the game,'' Hill said.

Yes we all know Fresno is on a roll and will most likely win the game but lets also remember SJSU scored 49 pts vs Boise St. and 70 vs Rice and has scored 20 or more in all of their 4 home games.

9/18 win vs Morgan St. 47-28
10/2 win vs Rice 70-63
10/30 loss vs UTEP 20-38
11/13 loss vs Boise st. 46-59

Hill one of 5 African American head coaches in 1A will most likely do anything to keep this game close.

Fresno St.'s head coach Pat Hill is known for running up the score on games but think that there is no reason to run up the score in SJSU's Fitz Hill's final game as a head coach....a 14-21 pt victory will probably be suffice. Fitz Hill is a respected head coach and well as person and just cant see Fresno St. take SJSU to the woodshed.

SJSU +26

I liked SJSU at home + points after seeing them take Boise to 2 OTs, regardless of the coaching situation. I guess this adds fuel to the fire.

GOOD THREAD,

i think your right about running the score up. i don't see it happening. if sjst can stop the run, this should be a cover.

You got it Truely:103631605 Thanks for the reply...its always nice to here the feed back from the forum.

I looked at SJSU originally when the line came out but Fitz Hill resigning put an added twist on the game.

You know its one thing when a lame duck coach, who has no support from his players, resigns but coach Hill is well liked and probably wont get embarassed in his final stint as a head coach.:howdy:

NEVADA +26 VS. BOISE ST.

The other big WAC game has some very interesting facts surrounding the possible outcome.

Nevada is 5-0 at home and 4-0 ATS this year
Boise St. in only its 4th road game of the year has given up 31, 42, and 49 in its 3 previous roady's.

Basically the Bronco's roll up their opponents at home, give up a grip of points on the road...2 of which they had to win in OT.

This also is the 1st nationally televised Nevada home game (ESPN) is some 15 years. Nevada should be fired up to beat the undefeated Bronco's on their home turf, and a chance to do it in front of a national TV audience just adds more fuel to the fire.

Boise St. is clearly the better team but their Home #'s vs. Road #'s clearly are so drastically different...that if history plays a role in this one Boise St. should pull out another squeaker on the road.

Scary thought here but Fresno has scored 42, 52, 70, and 54 in their last 4 games and has limited the opponents to less than 21 in each. On the road they have not given up more than 33 (@ Boise) and 28 (@LaTech) with most being in the low 20's or less. It is a scary number considering if you take out the 49 and 70 that SJSU scored against Boise and Rice (flukes), this team really does not score a lot of points. And they turn it over like little Suzy from high school.

Just a thought...WinOne!!
