going to back the best 2-7 pitcher in baseball and go with cain. the kid has endured some incredibly bad luck (read: run support) but has proven a handful of times that he can shut down some of the best lineups in baseball. ostensibly, its tough to go against the yankees at such a short price. but cain is flat out the better pitcher and the yanks arent swinging confident bats right now. i really feel like if frisco can find a way to get 4 on the board, it will be enough for cain in this game.

I like the first five innings better because I'm afraid the patient Yankee hitters will get Cain out of the game early, but yes I think the price is right here for SF.

Hey prod, did you end up fading Rogers today, or are you waiting for the lines to rise some more before you do so?

Guy looked pretty damned good today.

GL on tonight's play.

That's why you're 2-7. Cain is so impressive when he is going well, but there is no excuse for walking Igawa with two men on and two men out.

im waiting for the tigers to get out of interleague play and become a big chalk again. thats when ill take some shots against rogers. im always one to give credit where its due and he pitched damn good ball in his first start back tonight. but facing a national league lineup, esp sans chipper, is quite different from facing the american lineups fresh of the disabled list. looking at the tigers schedule, his next two or three starts look to be against texas, cleveland, and boston. seattle follows that series so he might see a capable mariners team as well and they rake lefties. i think there will be solid money to be made against rogers. if im wrong, ill certainly have the losses to prove it and my bankroll will take a hit because ill be against him his next few starts.

0-5 following everyone here.

There is another word that starts with the letter "F" that works alot better on forums.

Following the cattle to the slaughter is what you are doing.

My opinion of course.

In my 34 years of successful handicapping, i've seen a lot of landmarks come and go. But when someone approaches one, not only does it get the person approaching one tight, it makes the whole team team tight and not totally focused. This leads to a consistently lower winning % about 80- 85 % of the time from crunch time to a week after the record breaks. Note SF's record when Bonds got within 8 or 9 HR's of the record. Now right down their record a week after he breaks it. You will see i know what i'm talking about. Play against SF or leave the game go until a week after the record is broken. I have many trends like this that hold true but using them takes PATIENCE and TIMING. These 2 attributes are a MUST to successful handicapping. I also won 24 consecutive mini-sessions (5-20 minutes long) at Atlantic City playing roulette (red or black) doing this. How? You read the board above your head and wait for a consistent chop or streak to happen. PATIENCE to recognize TIMING for what spin to put the money down as well as picking up your chips when the streak is over and cashing in your mini-session (it really pisses them off) and watching the tables to recognize another streak coming. Try it. You won't become a millionaire in one day but accumulatively over 50 sessions, you should be up between 1000 (worse scenario) and 5000 (best scenario) One key downside rule----- Losing twice in a row would end a session and you should leave to start a new mini-session.
