What a career! Is he still one of the best in the game? I know about 5 years ago he was considered the best in the world.

Still top TEN in the world???..........probably pushing it to say that considering the amount of good young talent in the league right now and others in their prime.........however, sure many observers would still rate him in the TOP TEN considering his all-around play and many intangibles he brings to the AVs.
Not top ten in the world in terms of skills. Absolutely top 3 in terms of hockey IQ and leadership. Overall he's right on the brink as you said.

a classy gent as well....
Top 5 players in my era (born in 1971)
1. Wayne Gretzky
2. Mario Lemiuex
3. Paul Coffey
4. Steve Yzerman
5. Joe Sakic
Plenty of other great ones, but when you add up ALL the intangibles, including CLUTCH players...these are without a doubt the top 5.
Ray Bourque was and is a sellout. only left the B's because he wanted to win a Cup. I lose all respect for guys like that (karl malone).
