Its a classic because this is the moment the saints have built for. They traded away jimmy graham so they could win these games on the road. Because they knew at home they can win scheme up like 5 different ways to beat you. On the road it's a power run game 1-2 punch. Which makes this game intriguing because Kamara and the saints speed vs vikings defensive speed. I think Kamara is going to have a very good game vs Minnesota.

The 3.5 seems a bit generous for the better qb and offense. Michael thomas is a star in the making though. My gut is pointing to Vikings because it makes sense with everything else. But we'll see.

Fair enough I wonder why do you think hes going to have a good game? I think he may have a decent game but nothing spectacular. The vikings defense DOMINATED the first game. Kamara had a smaller role in that one but I'm telling ya the Vikings have MULTIPLE skilled defensive players at all levels.. No disrespect to Luke Kuehly LB Panthers but hes slow as shit compared to Barr and Kendricks plus the Vikings will be rolling a safety. You can pretty much make Thomas a non factor because of Rhodes. So now you have the TE, Ginn, Kamara and a 3rd receiever up against Waynes, Newman or Alexander, Barr Kendricks, Smith and Sandejo.. Vikes rushing the front 4 and will have a big advantage on the ends with Hunter and Griffen. Saints defense is a nice litttle story but they dont have any guys who stand out. Vikes went up.and down on them last game and that was Center Par Elfleins first ever game. Vikes had a 470-280 yard advantage until final drive..Unless Vikes fumble it away they roll

It Cracks me up when Posters throw out their opinions without really doing some research - MOB you are better than this usually do your research!

Carolina had the 3rd best run defense in the league this year and Held NO to 40 rushing yards at home yesterday...when the Saints held the lead all game.

Minnesota has the second best run defense in the league...what makes you think the Saints will be able to run the ball on the road against this unit when they couldn't vs Carolina.

The OP is focused on Defense not offense - thats what matters in the PO's...

Love the Vikes this weekend SKOL VIKINGS!

as great as brees is he is likely to throw a pick or two against the vikings defense. added the fact that there are injuries to the offensive line it makes you wonder how saints can move the ball against minnesota. first look i like the vikings to run away with it.

They were shut down in the running game but yet still managed to pull out a win... what make you think Saints would keep same game plan instead of coming up something different. How about dink dunk? just saying I'm sure Payton/Brees not dumb enough to have same running games back to back.

The best defenses can be broken down? How are they going to break them down? Thomas or Kamara or Ingram. They will need a running game cause Brees will have consistent pressure in his face

Don't know the specific... just hope for magic... same way a 14 points underdog pull out an upset.

Did you see the big plays the Saints got against Carolina with Thomas running around wide open against a zone? Vikes don't play that, if Thomas beats Rhodes 1 on 1 then tip your hat but Rhodes has been shutting #1 receivers down for 3 years. HE is the BEST cover corner in the league. THey have the best SS in Harrison Smith, the best MLB in Kendricks, the best cover LB in Barr, and Lindval Joseph, Everson Griffen, Danielle Hunter, Trae Waynes, and Sandejo are no slouches, The Vikes have no weakness and are number 3 in league with QB rating against..

The Saints will have a hard time stopping the Vikes on offense.. Vikes O line is good, really good and they have weapons..

This is a case of bad public perception. Saints backers can rely on hope, hoping that Keenum implodes but I'll rely on the Vikings being the better team and if they lose I'll tip cap to Saints.

Saints d is banged up and it showed. They gave up 300 yards passing at home to friggin cam newton and the worst group of wrs I ve seen. Just terrible. Minnesota has guys who get open and can catch. Add in a mobile qb ( the only area of trepidation comes from his lack of play off experience), home field, and the far superior defense spells a dd win, imo. That Vikings defense is so fast, you take Thomas out of the plan with Rhodes and I think Brees is in for a long day. I just love this defense, I think it will lead them to the Lombardi in a few weeks. I would lay 10 in this game.

Kamara is going to have a good game. Anothony Barr covering him or not. Doesn't matter.

I agree I opened my mouth too soon. Just going by what makes sense to me down the road... Vikings would be the play here. I think everyone knows the defenses are stout.

Minnesota defense has good players across the board and throw quite a few great players. Brees is going to have pressure all day. They wont be able to run the ball. On third down Minnesota is the best in the league with only 25% conversion. Just for reference New Orleans is the fourth worse in the league at 40%. I dont want to hear about New Orleans defense.

On offense Minnesota is third in league in third down conversions at 43%......New Orleans is 19th at 37%. One of the biggest differences this year versus last year for Minnesota is the offense puts together drives as shown by the third down conversions. I have said this over and over.....the biggest factor is that it has kept the defense fresh and rested. Last year the defense almost gave up at the end of the year because the offensive line was so bad they never had any drives and the defense was on the field all the time. This year Minnesota is second in time of possession. It is a combination of the offense putting together drives and defense shutting down the opponents and giving it back to the offense.

Read somewhere this year Vikings 3rd down defense is around 25% success which is all time low.... Seem like Saints should just pack it in and have no chance.

Why is it first time qb lose at 95% clip in playoffs? And aleays the great QBs are the ones going deep.... All stats aside, playoffs is a different animal and pressure.

Just dont let Saints hang around in 4th qtr...i see a Brees' dagger coming... Just like last night vs that great Georgia defense.

I highly doubt the Saints can move the ball consistently on the ground. Brees is very dangerous if they can keep within a one score game near the end. However, I still like the Vikings, as they have the extra motivation (or pressure) of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl playing at home.

So Minnesota wins, and either Matt Ryan or Case Keenum is in the Super Bowl. Atlanta lost last year and I dont see them getting back to the big game. Minnesota is very good but inexperienced if they get to the Super Bowl. If Minnesota gets there they will lose vs any AFC team.

Saints aren't experienced enough but they have Brees. It wouldn't surprise me if Saints beat Minnesota but it won't be a cakewalk.

I just can't see Case keenum in the Super Bowl. It's a QB league.

Why not? Superbowl winning QB Brad Johnson, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien just to name a few.

Those are exception, not the norm.... It's a QB league now...just check last 10 SB participants.

You are putting way too much emphasis on the quarterback. If you took the last 10 Super Bowls there were 20 quarterbacks. Throw out tom Brady with 4 appearances and the other 16 quarterbacks had very few great quarterbacks.

on the flip side the teams that win the Super Bowl usually have good defenses and quite a few great defenses. Teams like Denver, Seattle, Baltimore, NY Giants.

Also in last 20 Super Bowls the wining team scored 35 points or more just twice. Seattle scored 43 but had a safety, pick 6 and kick off return. The other was Brad Johnson.

the flip side the winner gave up 21 or less 13 times. Defense wins championships.

Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, drew Brees, Tom Brady Kurt Warner. One or both of these is always in the Super Bowl.

Rex Grossman, Matt Hasselbeck, and Colin kapernick aren't the norm. Those guys don't win. Brad Johnson has a ring because they went against the same team their coach previously coached. There is no way case keenum is winning a super bowl vs Tom Brady or big Ben. If Minnesota gets there it's to give either of those 2 a an easier ring.
