They release their signature player over the past decade, I hear Sean Payton doesn't care for him and even sat him down when Horn was healthy late in the year....just seems like Horn's getting a raw deal....Saints finally have a real chance and he's shown the door.

Ravens are definitely losing their most versatile player Adaleus Thomas (unbelievable)...I can't believe they're letting him walk, franchise him if you have to.

Hats off to Everson Walls , the ex Cowboy defensive back, who saved Ron Springs life by giving him a new kidney, amazing story!

Springs could even walk again, and will no longer need dialysis and regain most of his every day functions.

I'm not sure if that they screwed him or not. I'm sure a lot of Saint/NFL fans feel that way. By his comments and all appearances I would agree with you to some degree. But should they have kept him at a high salary if they planned to move him to say a 3rd receiver role? Would he accept a huge paycut and reduced role? If so, then I would tend to agree, that something could've been worked out to keep him. However, this is nothing new in the NFL.

My beloved Bucs released John Lynch a few years ago, and the outcry here was deafening, with screams of how he got screwed. They told him they would like to keep him, but at half the salary, and to back-up a young Jermaine Phillips. He was also just off of neck surgery. Obviously, Lynch moved on to make more money, make more pro bowls, and play in more playoff games. Plus it turned out to be a horrible decision because, to put it mildly, Phillips is garbage. But don't see how Lynch got screwed. On the other end, they just resigned FB Mike Alstott for 1.5 mil, no signing bonus. Alstott has stated he has made plenty of money, and just wanted to finish his career with the team and area in which he began. Would Horn have accepted a 1.5 mil contract with no signing bonus to be a 3rd receiver just for the sake of staying in an area which he has openly embraced as his home?

Bottom line, this is a business. I just hope that ANY fan who demands loyaly from a player that holds out reflects on guys like Horn and Lynch, and realize loyalty left town a few years ago. Funny, those same Buc fans that were crucifying the organization for releasing Lynch, bad mouthed one of the classiest, and arguably best Buccaneers in their history, Derrick Brooks a couple of years prior to that when he held out for a better contract, after seeing everyone around him get paid.

Also forgot to say, I agree about the Walls/Springs story. Selfless act by Walls. All respect in the world.

He claims he can still play 16 games but history proves him wrong....Saints did ask him to restructure his contract and he refused...He's non essential personnel with all his injuries and though he held a news conferance today saying he didnt want to leave i doubt he's going to get 7 million from anyone else for 1 yr....Saints have good recievers what they need is some cap room...

From what I just read, Horn wanted out.
It was a mutual departure according to Long Island Newsday.

Regarding Walls, way to man up dude.

There's still an outside shot that Horn returns to the Saints. But I'm sure some team will offer him more.

As for Adalius, apparently he's gonna become one of the highest-paid players in NFL history. So uh, can't blame the Ravens for letting him walk.

Should've franchised him, though.

they have players at that position who are cheaper, younger and better than horn. simple business decision. there is no loyalty in sports on either side these days.
