System Smitty Ryan For HarryTheHat: The Saints have not been dominant at home this season like we're accustomed to seeing, but the Ravens haven't been world-beaters on the road either. System Smitty Ryan thinks the Saints are a much better team than they have shown in their last two games at home. Just think about how good the Packers have looked in their past two at home, then remember how bad they played in a 44-23 loss at New Orleans a month ago. The same can be said about the Denver Broncos last week in their road loss to the St. Louis Rams or the New England Patriots at the start of the season. Every team goes through a slump at some point, and keep in mind that this New Orleans team went 8-0-1 ATS in its previous nine games as a home favorite before failing to cover three of their past four at the Superdome. Expect the Saints to come through with a huge effort Monday night. Saints -2 /1/2 At Ceasars & SouthPoint it moved from-3 to 2 1/2 at 12:30 PST.Some early money going down on Ravens, rest of books in town still at -3. {This is live line here at Ceasars} -2 1/2 Saints
J.J. Bascus:For HarryThe Hat J.J. Bascus on my power rating which Harry posted for Sundays game at Saints - 4 with my calculations. New Orleans Saints are coming off their second consecutive loss at home when they faced the Cincinnati Bengal in week 11. Drew Brees and the Saints are still fighting for that top spot in the NFC South. The pressure is all on Saints and Drew Brees .A win here will put them in first place in the division. This week, they face a 5th ranked rush defense coming from the Ravens; however, the Purple Birds are ranked 21st in pass which is good news for the Saints as most of their offense comes from passing plays. Expect this offense to be involved mostly in aerial action. Also, here is a fact to consider: Sean Peyton and Drew Brees have never lost three games in a row at home, and tonight they play at home on Primetime. Not only that, but Drew Brees and the Saint have a good history when it comes to playing at home on primetime. Many people doubted them on their last primetime game when they faced the Packers; that outcome finished by a dominating performance from the Saints as they beat the Packers 23-44

The job for the Saints got significantly tougher this week with the announcement that Brandin Cooks will miss a substantial amount of time with a thumb injury. Cooks was second on the team in receptions with 53 and second in yards with 550. Jimmy Graham has been the recipient of 59 of Drew Brees’s 290 completions and seven of his 19 touchdown passes. Brees has thrown 10 picks, which is just two fewer than he threw all of last season. Ultimately, the defense has been the problem. Rob Ryan resuscitated a poor 2012 defense last year, but he hasn’t been able to sustain last season’s successes. The Saints have given up an average of 370 yards per game. Baltimore Is 5-1 SU In Its Last 6 Games When Playing New Orleans. New Orleans Is 1-5 SU In Its Last 6 Games When Playing Baltimore .... If He Can Get Owen Daniels And Steve Smith Sr. More Involved, He'll Really Put Up Some Numbers In Prime time. Ravens (11th-best option). Front 7 is great, secondary is trash. I don't care who Drew Brees is throwing to, it's going to be a concern for the Ravens. Stopping Mark Ingram in the running game can force Brees to throw, which isn't what the Ravens want to see. The total has gone over in five of Baltimore's last six games on the road. New Orleans is 1-5 SU in its last six games when playing Baltimore.
Defending the pass has been an issue this season for the Ravens and that’s hardly an issue that teams want to have to enter a game against Drew Brees. The Ravens rank 21st against the pass. What could be a benefit for them is that the Saints also have an effective running game that has given them some offensive balance this season. The Ravens are fifth at stopping the run, holding opponents to just 84.5 yards per game on the ground. Up until the Ravens allowed 43 points to the Pittsburgh Steelers, they had held every other opponent to 27 points or less. HarryThe Hats Bet -2 1/2 Saints at home.
