Sacramento Area posters... I need help

Looking for a place and we came across a house in South Sacramento area. Would like to know what you guys think of the area.

Also, how bad would it be to commute to UC Davis? How´s traffic?

funny you mention it, I was down there today for the fist time in a year, it's gotten darker - traffic is a real clusterfuck - as far as safe that's relative. But that's the last place I'd raise kids

Not in Sacramento, I looked into the area because I had an interview there, that's not where you want to buy. The only neighborhoods in CA holding value are the wealthy neighborhoods, everything else you'd essentially be catching a falling knife.

I'm not buying into the bubble being finished bursting, ESPECIALLY in Sacramento, the city with one of the highest foreclosure rates in the country.

Price declines have slowed because the subprime foreclosures have halted. They'll pick back up soon with the ALT-A and Option ARMs resetting.

Wait until 2012.
