I said I would post my thoughts on each S Carolina game so here goes my mid week take on the Kentucky game. We have a huge home field advantage with it being our first home game and coming off a win. With that being said, I still do not feel comfortable laying over a touchdown with this team at this point. Still to many questions on offense and I just don't see us scoring more than 28. As far as the defense, although we held UNC to 13 points, that's a tad misleading with the 3 red zone turnovers. I think we're better on defense but still feel like we will give up some yards and points to most teams. I think Spurrier will keep it simple and do what it takes to get a win. Just don't think I'm ready to lay 7.5 yet. Good luck.

I don't project many upsets this week. Kentucky has the highest spread of teams I project to win outright. Their defense was pretty awful last week, but it remains to be seen if SCAR can take advantage of that.

Kentucky gave up 33 points at home last week to Lafayette. The only shot they have is if South Carolina is looking ahead to their game at Georgia the following week, and South Carolina is not a good enough team to look ahead to any game. Kentucky upset Stoops and Company at home last season. South Carolina has not forgotten that.

IF SC doesn't win this game by more than 2 TDs it is a letdown. ULL RBs are good, but the 3 back set and the Wildcat of SC are better. Nice to be deep there to not have to "look ahead" to UGa with fresh backs. However, Cooper can't take a beating in the Wildcat either, and we need to establish some sort of passing game, which to me against Kentucky, should come in the form of TE passes and routes across the middle. As for the D, they need to continue to improve, obviously, as I'm not forgetting the 3 Red Zone TO's with 2 being INTs in the end zone. Scary. I think we see some adjustments this week and they get the job done at Home while avenging last years defeat. The crowd will be off the chain in this one with the first home game of the year, and at night to boot. Flask it up...lol Don't really do score predictions, but let's go 41-17 or 38-24 SC type game and blowing through the over.

Lafayette's offense may be better than ours. Lol. And you're right, Kentucky is one of 3 games that we led late in the game and lost last year. I agree we haven't forgot that but I also know that this is a game Kentucky really thinks they can win.

Can't deny those 2 back are really good. SC will try and should be able to do the same thing. Put Carson in earlier even. Looked great and reduce the load on all backs while still producing. But, damn, we have to come up with some QB play, somehow...

I can understand Kentucky thinking they can win this game. Look what South Carolina has. A good defense but not much on the offensive side of the ball. Still, with games at UGA. Mizzou, A&M, and Tennessee, a loss here may be enough to keep them out of a bowl game and Spurrier on the golf course 24/7.
