If you guys really want to charge people when you go live..Here would be the best move for everyone.

You keep v1.0 Free to the people who dont not keep Live line moves, and for everyone who does you charge 99 a month and you put don best and g&j out of business. Its a win-win. For the live line watchers and for therx getting 99 dollars from each customer. You will steal a number of customers from the other 2 services.
Just my opinion

I dont understand your post... but haha, anyone who thinks they will put G&J out of business has NO IDEA who G&J is and what they have been through. We arent going anywhere.

Anyways, I dont think the point of TheRx service is to put anyone out of business... just to share in the DB pie. And they (DB) are sure making it easy...

Lets just put this out there. I know all about the world of business.. I know you will not put the giants of the industry fully out of business. G&J has a great product, no way to put them. The point of my post was to put an idea of charging less for a similar product. You can not have the same service as a G&J 100%.. everyone runs off different somftware. That was point of my post. Hope that clears up everything

Creepster - You make a good point - charging $99 for a real-time product would make it tough for others to compete. We are in a good situation in that we already have a strong business and the odds product is just an add-on, giving us lots of flexibility on pricing, etc.

Mike is right about us not wanting to put them out of business. This is a great time for customers of odds services as they will have more viable options than ever, giving them better technology at better prices. Customers will be able to subscribe to the product that best fits their needs and will probably be able to subscribe to multiple services for the same price they have been paying.

I believe we will have the best service/information at the best prices, but I know we will not be able to please everybody. G&J has been at this for a long time and I would suggest that customers give them a try and decide which service suits their needs.

I will say this about the G&J crew - they are freakin' persistent. It used to bug the crap out of me, but now I admire it.

Thanks
Rick

I think you answered my question. I see the slower scores as being a detriment, however that's better than the wrong score that D/B has had quite frequently. I know Al Corbo is rolling over in his grave watching what they have done to a good idea and product. The biggest problem i think i have and after talking with other people that seems to be their chief concern is the fact you need more top tier Books, even credit shops if available. I'm sure that when you open up in Aug a lot of this will be solved, however some of the guys pay yearly because of the added savings and some pay for two or three months in advance. I'm sure they are getting antsy and don't want to be left at the starting gate. I get both services plus two credit shops not listed anywhere anymore but i used to pay in advance and know where the guys are coming from.Sure can't wait for the real product and know there is plenty of business to go around. There is something for everybody, different strokes for different folks.

:youmad: Rick, it looks like you got out at the right time and you could bem sitting in the catbird seat or at least sharing it with a great product. i sure hope this gets off the starting line in time. There are a lot of people that are looking to resign with someone or for an additional out.

We had a nice little shake-up today didnt we? I couldnt have written a better script myself. You gotta love this game. Not sure if you would let me, but I would like to offer your guys a free pass to our premium service for awhile. We could even take them on month to month at a discounted price so that they dont have to sign a long-term with DB. Let me know what you think and ill be glad to setup an open RX pass.

For all of you guys out there looking for a line service... stick with the people that know the business inside and out. You will be happy you did. I see G&J and TheRX the only logical choices now.... (placed in order of value of course ;))

I like it. I'll be interested to see what the final product looks like.

Pricing it lower than the rest of the world could get you many customers. I see other boards already talking about RXOdds. If year 1 is a success, maybe bump up the price starting in year 2?

Also, I wouldnt mind being able to "hot-key" among the tabs. hit the F key and it moves to the Football tab. B for baseball. K for basketball. etc.

Thanks Rick!
