i would start the tournament off with higher blinds and slow the structure as it gets later. i think 3 hours is all the tournament needs to be but even if it lasts 4 hours (which any time ive made it deep it has) atleast with the structure the majority are already out. whether you are playing 70bbs or 400bbs to start doesnt seem to matter. this way 6th-14th wont spend 2 hours for nothing. ofcourse your goal might just be to get everyone together. but still, if you ask people that play i would assume most say the first part is too slow and the late part is too fast. thats not just therx tourney, thats any tournament everywhere
ive discussed this with numerous people and everyone has a different answer. id say the thing to do is skip 2 entry level blinds and add 500 chips to the starting stacks and tweak it from there...but lets face it i have no experience running a tournament and am a loser at everything i touch. these are just my opinions
