Mr Who is in.

NBACapper - we will not be doing a 12 person league, so I assume you're out.

Scottcarter and GGW have 24 hours, if they don't want in we will stick with 8. If they do, we will go to 10. If one of them wants in, we will have a 10 person league and open it up to one more participant.

As far as rules, here is what I suggest. Please chime in.

  • Total Points league, not h2h. This means no playoffs. League runs all the way through week 17. Standings are determined only by total points. I already have league majority on this, so if you are not interested in a points league, this ain't the league for you.
  • $100 entry towards the final pot. $5/week towards weekly bonus category. This means that everyone will owe $185 before the draft. I will hold the weekly high points funds and disperse each week, on Tuesday.
  • I would like to try a rotating weekly position bonus. Suggested weekly bonus schedule:
    • Week 1: highest total points
    • Week 2: highest scoring QB
    • Week 3: highest scoring individual RB*
    • Week 4: highest scoring TE*
    • Week 5: highest scoring individual WR*
    • Week 6: highest scoring flex
    • Week 7: highest scoring total RB tandem*
    • Week 8: highest scoring total WR tandem*
    • Week 9: highest total points
    • Week 10: highest scoring QB
    • Week 11: highest scoring individual RB*
    • Week 12: highest scoring TE*
    • Week 13: highest scoring individual WR*
    • Week 14: highest scoring flex
    • Week 15: highest scoring total RB tandem*
    • Week 16: highest scoring total WR tandem*
    • Week 17: highest total points

* - players started in that position slot, i.e. flex players don't count towards that bonus

  • All funds to be paid and dispersed via ppal.
  • I'd prefer a snake draft. Might have to put this one to a vote.
  • 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 Flex - I'd like to remove K and D. Might have to put this one to a vote too.
  • Standard PPR scoring
  • If 8 person, payouts will be:
    • $550 to highest season total points (league champion)
    • $250 to 2nd highest season total points (league runner up)
    • $40 per week dispersed to weekly bonus winner
  • If 10 person, payouts will be:
    • $600 to league champion
    • $250 to runner up
    • $150 to 3rd
    • $50 per week dispersed to weekly bonus winner

Not sure if I'm leaving anything out. Just wanted to get a starting point out there.

Thoughts?

sounds like a plan.

I like Kickers and Defense, but not enough to care if we don't include them.

Did my first auction draft last year while bitching and moaning before hand and ended up loving it, but again, whatever is clever.

Maybe consider unlimited $5 free agent pickups with a short bench and blind bid real cash waiver claims. That builds a pot faster than anything.

I agree with anything, so if it comes to a vote, put me down with the majority.

looking forward to it!

why is 12 out of the question? i think once you lay out the rules especially not being h2h we will get 12 easily

It's not a matter of whether or not we can get enough people. I like small leagues and stacked teams sometimes. I like short-handed poker sometimes too. It's just a little different.

Main problem with this is collecting money. I would prefer to minimize ppal transactions. So we would have to keep a running tally throughout the season, which just kinda complicates things.

Very true. It works great when you are in it with a bunch of friends locally. I guess it would be a pain in the ball bag in this set up though.

Where'd you come up with the weekly random position bonus idea. I kinda like that.

I wanted to do a weekly bonus for just highest total points. But in a total points league, it's a tad redundant with the standings themselves. So I opted for this idea I got from this earlier post in this thread. I can't take credit for the idea.

I like both of those ideas. I played in a league for a long time that just does total points and I liked it better than head to head, but whatever everyone wants, I am in.

I also like the extra weekly prizes. What I have done in the past is do it by position. So basically week 1 the highest scoring qb (who was started) gets the cash. Week 2, the highest scoring Rb (who was started), so on and so on.

if you really want to bid a pot, you can do real cash blind bidding on waivers.

In for the total points league.

Oh boy, another Chicago guy. I use to have a rule to not play in any Fantasy Football Leagues with Cub fans as they are always free to study after June. Now I find myself playing against multiple Cubbies.... Hopefully they hang tough for another month!

I am looking forward to this!

Roll call time. Please confirm that you are in for a total points league with rules set forth in post 38. Then we'll start talking about payment and draft.
