Why not? What a crazy year one of the best - maybe the best - I have ever seen.

The rankings are based on winning and how you win and who you win against. Win Win Win. Lets get down to it

Oct 12 Top 10
1- Miss State. 6-0 5-1 vs spread. Let me know when someone plays this team close. They have dominated against very good competition. The SEC the deepest its ever been.
2- Ole Miss. 6-0 6-0 vs spread. Their close game at home against Bama is the only reason they are below Miss State. As close to #1 as you can get.
3- Notre Dame. 6-0 4-2 vs spread. Not always impressive looking but hey they don't schedule La Monroe or D2 teams either. Very solid wins against good teams.
4- Baylor. 6-0 4-1-1 vs spread. You gotta hand it to a team that made that type of comeback against a very good TCU team.
5- Fla State. 6-0 1-5 vs spread. I don't like to have to rank them here but they have won although against weak competition. The horrible spread record shows they just don't care or are just not that good. They would be chewed up and spit out in the SEC.
6- TCU. 4-1 5-0 vs spread. You can't get closer to unbeaten than TCU. Total heartbreak to blow that game yesterday. Other than that they have dominated.
7- Auburn. 5-1 3-3 vs spread. Outside of the Miss State loss they have been impressive. Will see how this loss affects them as they play against better.
8- Alabama. 5-1 1-4-1 vs spread. Not an impressive team these days especially on the O. Losses are coming if they don't get it fixed.
9- Georgia. 5-1 3-3 vs spread. You had a feeling they would rally yesterday and that they did. Impressive win over Clemson only helps.
10- Oklahoma. 5-1 3-3 vs spread. Not a bad effort in the bunch they played well losing at TCU. The Texas win was blah but that could be due to last week.

I forgot about Mich St.. I would put them at 7 and move all the other teams down a spot and ND out of the top 10

another note here.. TCU , ND, & K St need help to get into 4 team playoff...everyone else controls there own destiny including Ohio St, ASU, & AZ

What am I missing with Ohio St? How do they get in? I can't see anyone in the Little 10 making it they were destroyed in the non conf schedule. Same with ASU and Zona. They're weak.

If Ohio St runs the table and wins the Big Ten with a w over Mich St, I would say a 1 loss Big Ten Champ would get it over a 1 loss SEC team that didn't win there Conference.. I think it could happen with a 1 loss Pac 12 Champ too..I could be wrong but think the committee would give the nod to a 1 loss Pac 12 Champ ov a 2nd SEC team.....just speculating here with a lot of football left

See your point. But little 10 was destroyed so badly I would be very disappointed. Va Tech? Wow. Oregon could pull it off if they win. I am almost certain 2 SEC teams and Fla State if they win out. TCU and Baylor would also take it over Little 10. JMO and IMHO.

I don't think so with TCU & Baylor.. No Conference championship game hurts them more then ever now that everyone has a loss in Big 12..Oregon is a lock for playoff if they win out. that's not even a debate if they win Pac 12 with only 1 loss.. I think Mich St is a lock with 1 loss too..Assuming that the SEC doesn't eliminate each other with 2 losses, the runnerup will have to either hope for a Sparty or Duck loss, or maybe a Fla St loss... Ohio St, AZ, & ASU are more farfetched, but a 1 loss champ for either Conference Champ will carry the weight IMO if its either of those champions..

Rush, I'm not necessarily debating which team is better here, only if certain things runs its course, I think you have to think of the possibilities

We will just have to disagree. I think a 2 loss SEC takes it over Mich State. Oregon destroyed them. I don't want to see that again. Bama with 2 losses would beat Mich State by 50.

It will be interesting to see...I saw a graphic on one of the games yesterday that said Mich St would be favored to win the playoff .. I had a hard time believing that could be true.. But maybe its based on having the easiest path.. I still can't see a 2 loss team getting in before a 1 loss Champion.... I would make that bet right now

If you are right which could very well be there sure will be a bet made. I will empty the bank account in a bet against the Little 10 team.
