Excellent point. What exactly did Rush say that was actually racist? Granted it was stupid because he should have known that it would get him in trouble and be misconstrued. I really don't think Rush was saying that McNabb had been given preferential treatment (ie somehow "given" the starting QB job because he was black). What I believe he was trying to say was that some people in the media are inclined to promote minorities (no matter what) and less likely to criticize minorites for fear of being labeled...you guessed it a "racist" (a word that has been tossed around so much in this thread that it has lost its effect). I think McNabb is a talented QB, but he is hot and cold as are many players. Players should be evaluated and judged on their talent/performance on the field and I think with millions of $$$ at stake these days in the NFL, for the most part they are. Rush just should have said that (in his opinion) McNabb may have been overated and that is why the Eagles are struggling(PERIOD). No race, no social "issues" he should have just stuck with football. On his radio show, Rush says things that no one else in the media will say and many times it is the truth, but he gave them the rope to hang him with this time. As far as the pill thing...boy, he may have to really take a bite of the sh*t sandwich. I hope it is not true. If it is I hope he gets help. I don't think the guy is a racist, he is good friends with Justice Clarence Thomas and J.C. Watts but of course those are the "wrong" kind of black leaders (conservative.).
