Hi guys,

to all of you who had the runtime error 91 error AND(!!!) are using non-english systems...listen up!

After a few days of :cryingcryI started :modemman:ing an finally found a way around it.

Obviously it wasn't a problem with connecting to the websites - because the scrap-table always showed up the gathered info. So it had to be some problem in the process of writing the gathered info in the specific tables in the spreadsheet...

After about 5 hours of :modemman:, lots of :drink: and tons of :smoking: I thought about what differences there could be between german and american systems. Did I have to install an american office version, an american windows or would it be enough to make my system look american? I changed the language of win xp whicht didnt help, then I had an (what do you call a "geistesblitz" in the U.S.???) and altered my system's date-format and voila - updating stats, odds, games...everything works perfectly!!!

All you have to do
Go into your Systemconfig and change the date/clock-preferences to look american!!!

Sorry for all those pics in this post (I already had to limit the pics to 8 *fg*) - but I'm kinda VEEERY happy now that it works and hope I could help some of you with the same problem!

Cheers folks :toast: and thanks ACE, thanks Rickochezz and thanks everyone of you who made this system possible :thumbsup2:

Since I have a german system it will become difficult but I will do my best. But based on your version of windows and the way you made the system look like (I personally changed win xp to look like win98) the way of changing the date-format will vary ;)

1. "Start" -> "Einstellungen" -> "Systemsteuerung"
in english this could be something like:
a. you hit the start button on the bottom left of your screen :thumbsup2:
b. you then click on settings (just above of "search")
c. and then you hit the system-control link (a new windows should now open)

2. "Datums-/Zeit-/Sprach- und Regionalseinstellungen" -> "Format für Zahlen, Datum und Zeit ändern"

in broken english:
a. look for something that says "date, language, and time format" and hit it!
b. look again for something with "change date format" or "regional format" or something like that and look through the options there.

3. you then can alter your date/region - format all the way from Afrikan to Usbekistan and you should choose "English (USA)"

maybe someone knows an easier way or can explain it better. if so, please do it, because my english is very :notme:

PS: OMG you got some really naaaaasty pics in your forum hihihi. These are my favorites ->> :massage::niceback: now these just made the days till my girlfriend comes back look even longer ...

Hey Folks

Just talking to somebody that is about 14 hours ahead of us and was experiencing many of these problems. I thought what would happen if we changed his time to the current Eastern time zone as he was getting the schedule for Tuesday as it is Monday where he is. Now everything works fine for him - so this is a useful fix for those on the other side of the pond. Just switch you current time to Eastern time zone while you are getting the data then switch your time back. Its not perfect but it works. Maybe in time I can get something to do this. Remember we are all learning together here.

No disrespect to anyone but I can't see how it's the solution at all. My spreadsheet worked fine when I ran the updates yesterday. I tried to up date too early today and came up with the error 91. I didn't save, just closed, and ran the updates later (after 11.30 EST as suggested), it worked perfectly. So where does the solution that has been suggested come in to it?? I'm in the UK by the way so the date/time is not US standard. Still works fine now.

If somebody is trying to update stuff now and it is now monday in your time zone - then tomorrows games will end up showing Tuesdays games and there wont be any odds. If you are in far east for example (asia) then when it is 11:30 AM EST it could very well be the next day in that time zone.

Yes, but it wasn't when I updated first time to get the error. So it doesn't explain it.

Follow Along:

Tomorrows Games do not get switched over to Todays games on odds page until 11:30E - so if you attempt to run everything too soon then errors will appear. If you attempt to run after 11:30 E then all should be fine - BUT if you are too many time zones East of Eastern then you will run into more problems as your machine reads the date as the next day.

How about you follow along?

I wasn't dissing your spreadsheet. I love it. It's a fantastic piece of work and I applaud you for it. All I was saying was that the solution that wettspou wasn't the definitive answer and that people just changing their date/time settings and thinking everything would be hunky-dory may find that its not. As you rightly point out there are two ways of generating the error. One , updating too early and two, being in a time zone so far ahead that your "tomorrow" is actually "the day after tomorrow".

:thumbsup2:
