The thread is not about my impatience. It is about how our gov't always changing its position.
Just like in 1990. First We were going there merely to DEFEND other countries in the region. The military buildup was stictly defensive. Soon after, it became on OFFENSIVE buildup with only one goal - To force Iraq out of Kuwait. We were told once this was accomplished , we would have troops out of the region within months. Now 13 years later, the story changes again, now we have to attack Iraq, even though we were told by George Bush Sr. We would never do this.
Now as to the Chemical Weapons, it is funny that Dumsfeld never talked like that before the war. There were weapons anywhere and they would be easy to find once Saddam's gov't was gone, because everyone would talk once his gov't was gone. The only reason people werent talking was fear of Saddam. Now that Saddam is gone, Rumsfeld's position changes. Give it another week and it will be - "WE dont need to find no Chemical weapons - this was all about liberating the Iraqi people, had nothing to do with weapons".
By the way Thousands upon THousnads of Iraqi people demonstrated against us in Baghdad today.
