Ruling regarding the BEST BET Contest...

We are still in week one anyway...So its not a problem, all posted plays still counted, if you were able to get your play in on saturday before the crash thats fine, it counts...What we will do is extend the first week , the week will now end on FRIDAYS...No big deal, we will just go from saturday to friday...Any questions regarding the contest leave them here...

Frankly, it doesn't matter if you take Sammy or not I was just trying to do the right thing and find a replacement since the ONLY other option is to have the South compete with one less player.

It's pointless to identify specific individuals/incidents that caused me to leave the contest. My thread where I told you I was giving up my entry gave the general reasons for my actions. I have no doubt that it will probably run smoother from today forward but I also believe that there will be other "incidents."

Given the early days of the contest, I think it is fair to allow someone else to take the spot. As I said earlier, it keeps the South intact and Sammy does not get any real benefit since I'm 1-1. You've had to create other rules since the start of the contest so I suggest that you add one more after you accept Sammy. That rule would address the transfer of the contest entry. If you do not create a rule there will be someone who decides later in the contest that it would be a good idea to transfer ownership of his entry for a fee or some other reason.

I offer my sincerest apologies for dropping out. If I knew that a few of the entrants would exhibit questionable behavior even in a free contest, I certainly would not have entered. I'm interested in competing fairly and I'm not sure that ALL the competitors are particularly since much of the monitoring responsibility is falling on the players.

I would guess that the large MAJORITY of the entrants are honest but for me even one rotten apple spoils the bunch.
