From the player's point of view, isn't the rule "when in doubt, stay away"? I mean the market has some real solid books out there so why go with ones that have controversial stuff going on? A bounced check of any sort is a pretty serious alarm bell is it not?
How high a probability do you need that you will experience BS to decide to stay away from a book? For me the threshold is certainly not more than 1%, but that's because I've been outright stiffed before and experienced lies, bounced checks and slow pays many, many times from books that otherwise seemed reliable. Maybe someone who has not had any bad experiences will see things differently.
I should also say that one of the slow pays was from Royal, although apparently that was under the old "regime". But am I going to be bothered trying to sort out the details of this internal shlt when I've got a choice of 10 or more super reliable books out there!? Hell no! Royal, as far as I'm concerned, you're outta there
, and there ain't nothin' your smiley customer service guys can do to get me back. It's not because I think you guys stink, but simply because you are far from the best, and why the heck should I go with a book like you when I can go with the best!?
