Best pitcher in baseball hands down. Yes he is pitching this game away from Toronto and against James Shields along with the Red Hot Rays. Anytime you give me Roy Halladay at plus money, I will take it no matter what. Yes the Rays have an outstanding record at home and Toronto cannot hit whether at home or away.

Still, no way you can NOT take Halladay. Last time he was a dog, it was against the Angels and they won away from home. Best pitcher in baseball getting plus money is very good bet.

Bro he's not the best pitcher in baseball and he's plus money because he lost to the Rays at home...why wouldnt he be. Don't throw away your money bet the team who will "Win"....not the pitcher with the better reputation.

Are you serous smoke? Who do you say is the best pitcher then?
Who else can give you a good outing every night and give you a complete game? No one other than Roy Halladay. CC is probably 2nd in terms of complete games.

The best 4 pitchers in baseball are

Roy Halladay
Brandon Webb
Rich Harden
CC Sabathia

Yes, Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball right beside Peavy. Not sure if I can take the Jays at only +110 on the road against arguably the best team in the league though. Shields is a nasty pitcher too, and he can definitely shut down the Jays, even if their bats are hot right now. Might have to play the under here.

My point is your argument for backing the Jays is because Halladay is arguably the best pitcher in baseball at plus money. To me Cliff Lee is the best pitcher in the AL right now followed by CC and Webb. (Harden isnt in my top 5 until he consistently goes 6-7 innings). But back to the game, I said take the team who will WIN not the pitcher. The game might be 1-0, I want to back the team who scores 1 and not 0. The public money will be on the Rays at home but the smart money will probably be on the Jays because they are playing well right now. But he's at + money because he has lost to the Rays twice already. Dont throw your money on Halladay because to you he's the best pitcher but back the Jays because they have the better pitcher and are hitting well. That should be your reasoning.

Peavy isn't even top 5. He doesn't go past 7 innings ever and pitches in a joke division.

yes someone agress with me. Peavy is OVERRATED. He never goes past 7 innings and when has this guy done anything good this year pitching AWAY from Petco.

Jake Peavy has low ERA b/c half of his games are at Petco. Think about it ... most games are against the LA Dodgers and those SF Giants.

Look at happened to him when he pitched at Cubbies , Yankee Stadium and at Arizona. This guy gives up at least 5 runs in 3-5 innings of work. PPl think he is so good .... i agree he is but its only at PETCO PARK. BUT WHO ISNT GOOD AT PETCO? lol.

I showed you his stats from the past 5 years and his away ERA has almost always been very similar to his home ERA. How you can look at the stats from the past 5 years and still not admit you were wrong is beyond me.

I love how everyone is quick to point out Peavy's bad division, but no one ever mentions it about Webb, who plays in the EXACT SAME DIVISION, and gets a weaker lineup to face in the Padres. The only pitchers I could say are better than Peavy are Santana and Halladay.

Rays 13-1 when Shields starts at home and they beat Halladay three times this year.

I love Halladay but I can't go against Shields at home. He's automatic at home and I can't go against the best record in baseball and by far the best home record in baseball at a pick'em price. If anything, I would have to take Tampa Bay. I will pass. I bet Halladay in a similar situation earlier in the year at Tampa against Garza and Garza shut Toronto down and ended up scoring quite a few off Halladay.

Tampa has killed Halladay at the Trop this year, 14 IP 10 ER.

Shields has dominated Toronto at the Trop this year, 14 IP 3 ER.

Shields has dominated at the Trop this year, TB is 13-1 in his home starts

Taking Tampa in this one.

EDIT: But what the hell do I know, 1-4, huge loss of units today.

Betting on Shields at home has been a gold mine this year. Halladay hasn't beaten Tampa all year and has lost all three starts in Tampa. I can't jump on either side in this one though. I wouldn't want to test the waters again and go against Halladay who is likely chomping at the bit to beat Tampa. But I sure am not going against Shields at home.
