Somehow I really can't see USC somehow getting into the Championship game so I feel quite certain they will be in the Rose Bowl but who will they be playing ? Georgia ? Okl ? V. Teck ? Who ?

It won't be Hawaii. Not sure, but they will have a very nice opponent.

OK tied to Fiesta Bowl...V-Tech tied to Orange. Georgia very well could be in the NC game vs. Ohio State.

If Hawaii goes down, and I think they will, they will play Illinois. If Hawaii wins, probably W. Virginia, not a real good selection to choose from

I was wondering if Illinois had a BCS shot. Could be Kansas or Missouri too.

From the BCS site:

Conference tie-ins

2. Unless they qualify to play in the NCG, the champions of selected conferences are contractually committed to host selected games:
Atlantic Coast Conference-Orange Bowl
Big Ten Conference-Rose Bowl
Big 12 Conference-Fiesta Bowl
Pac-10 Conference-Rose Bowl
Southeastern Conference-Sugar Bowl

A. The bowl played on the date nearest to the National Championship Game (for 2008, Orange Bowl) will pick first;
B. The bowl played on the date second-nearest to the National Championship Game (for 2008, Fiesta Bowl) will pick second;
C. The bowl hosting the game that is played in the time slot immediately after the Rose Bowl game (for 2008, Sugar Bowl) will pick third.

So the Rose Bowl will get the last pick of the At-Larges to play USC.

Funny but the guys on TV were saying that the Rose Bowl would have first choice if Ohio State goes to Championship game and We already know that Ohio State is in... right or wrong ! Oh well they are usually wrong anyway ! By the way... The scenaria that I read tells me that the Rose Bowl would always pick last ? Doesn't make any sense, does it ?

They get the first pick because one of their host selected teams (big 10 champ) is lost to the NC game. They then move to the front of the line. Which probably sets them up to pick WV or Georgia.

USC/Illinois I bet. The Rose Bowl already told Big Ten Officials as was reported in a Chicago Newspaper. It will be hard to pass on Oklahoma though so they might rethink.

The Big 12 champ goes to the Fiesta Bowl...maybe you meant Georgia

It's will be Illinois. The Big10 commish has all the power and will make sure he gets the 'Traditional' Wose bowl matchup - As well a 2 BCS teams from his shitty conference.

Illinois - they haven't lost in 2 months, and they want the Big 10-Pac 10 tradition.

Tradition.... The BCS shot that down years ago ! A quick look over the last 10 years will show that the old Big 10 / Pac 10 means nothing anymore thanks to the phony BCS

C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.

What are you saying?

The Rose Bowl has the number one pick. There is nothing preventing them from picking Georgia other than tradition.

All you're quoting in that rule is that the rose bowl can't choose another PAC-10 team unless USC consents.

The only thing preventing them from picking Georgia is the Big 10 commish who will insist on Illinois, and he's very cozy with the Rose Bowl folks, as they have been splitting the monster ABC money for years.

:ohno:

USC/UGA would be a great game.

So it's looking like the Rose will be USC-Illinois, the Sugar will be Georgia-Hawaii, and the Fiesta will be Oklahoma-Kansas. I might not watch the BCS bowls this year.

The Big10 commish, as I said above...is the most powerful guys in college football, sadly.

1st pick of all the at large teams and the Rose takes #13 in the BCS ? lol, what a joke for the fans. USC will once again dominate..yawn.
