Its about time we got that clown outta there. I jumped on the K-State bandwagon in the mid 90's and never got off. Maybe Bill Snyder will come back.

I knew he wasn't going to last long after the stupid things he's done with the insane amount of JC's he's recruited the last couple years. This guy knows nothing about being a head coach. And he's ruined that program for at least the next two years or more. I'm curious to see if they interview Brent Venables for the job. He was assistant with Bob Stoops under Snyder at KSU.

Too bad Mike Stoops is having a good year with Arizona. They were getting ready to can him if he didn't do it this year.
K-State could have brought him back to be head coach.

he was never built for the head coach position, it was an emotional hire. I think Dan Hawkins has to show something on offense to not be on the hot seat going into the offseason

Actually, I shouldn't say that. I'm glad Mike Stoops is having success. He was always one of my favorites.

The team was already in pretty bad shape by the time he took over. Bill Snyder seemed to have kind of lost interest his last couple of years and they were slipping back toward old-style KSU.

They ought to be able to get some interest from top-level candidates because they're in the Big 12 and because of the '90s glory of the team, but having shown such a short leash with one coach will hurt them a little bit. Everybody wants to think they'll be given a fair shot at succeeding.

I hope they don't try and bring back Phil Bennett. He had his head coaching chance at SMU.

Nobody in their right mind would take the K-State job......horrible town, no tradition, and high school quality stadium and facilities.

Mike Stoops wouldn't even wipe his ass with this job, this is a position you go to as a first time head coach and hope to get out in a few years with a better job.

The trouble with Prince leaving this year is so many other BCS schools are going to need new coaches next year like Clemson, Auburn. Tennessee, Washington and Syracuse to name a few. So it looks like KSU will probably get the leftovers once again like they did with Prince. This is why I think Venables has a good chance of getting hired for the job if they elect to go the assistant coach route.

I don't really see the value of the comparison

Lubbock is in Texas, and the school has a way more resources in money and in fertile recruiting grounds. But they still didn't attract a proven head coach, they hit the lottery with an up and coming Offensive Coordinator from Oklahoma.

To say that Mike Stoops would have considered K-State if he was fired at AZ would have been career suicide.

Ron prince is a total freaking idiot. You get a grade A Qb and istall a stupid ass offense that you school cant even recruit for.

I just wonder, when coaches go to schools like Nebraska and Kstate to they take a stupid pill some where along the way and get these stupid ass ideas to install offenses for which they cant out recruit other schools?

Seriously.. the guy had a 265 lb QB at 6.4 and he couldnt even dare install the wild cat offense? He would rip him apart when he pulled down the ball and run?

What kind of moron coach is that?

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I will take Patterson any day of the week. Even bill snyder coming back would be a welcome in my book. I am a die hard kstate fan ever since the years of M. Bishop and later sproles.

K-State usally had a good, sometimes great defense under Bill Snyder. This was a major reason why they moved up the ladder so fast. The team I see this year looks nothing like the Kansas State I know. Their defense looks like the pre-Snyder Mildcats. This team has fallen quickly. This is the same team that Pete Carroll from USC is 0-2 against as the Trojans football coach. This team beat Carson Palmer and the Trojans twice not too long ago. Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

Yeah, I like Gary Patterson. That would be a great choice. He usually has good defenses too just like Bill Synder did. WE WANT GARY!!!!!!!!!
