I think he should be allowed to play. He did 10 games for something that he pled down to a misdemeanor to and he has never been in trouble before.
I think the NFLPA giving the NFL the finger over the hearing really pissed the league off and then also after the Rice fiasco they just want any AP controversy to go away.
Agree. The "child abuse" charges were blown out of proportion (IMO). Sure, he spanked his kid....but that's not "child abuse". The pussification of America is in full swing. The embarrassment of the whole situation is more punishment than he deserved. He should be back on the field.
Agree w/ mrwho about the owner not wanting to pay him now that the season is in the tank. Even though he has been getting paid through all of this, w/ the NFL punishment he'll have to pay the money back.
My problem w/ this suspension is that RBs have a short shelf life in the NFL. AP is close to that shelf life, although he does seem like a durable back who has several more years. But even if he were to play 12 years, losing an entire year to a suspension is nearly 10% of his entire NFL career.
