Do you really think Houston didn't know Roger was coming back?

If they had any doubt they would have signed someone else.

I am sure Roger told them- hey I need some time off, will be back in July. I want $22M. They said ok.

Then Roger gets the free publicity of 5 other teams coming to "try to sign him"

This is like Britney Spears getting married. Free publicity for him and his sponsors. Doesn't hurt to get his sons name in the paper a few hundred times either...

Its really ashame that no matter what some people do its never good enough for some people.

If he would not have done that, you guys would be saying how selfish of him not to share his wealth. Now that he does share, everyone is saying so what.

There is nothing he could do to make some of you happy.

He did not hold anyone hostage. This was planned since the WBC. He would have not gone to any other team other than Houston. The ASTROS have known about this for a long time. No one was getting held hostage.
