A-Rod stands to lose millions in divorce

If A-Rod's estranged wife files for divorce, she could claim half of his vast fortune — as well as their three opulent homes and private jet, experts say. "He'll be working on her farm team for the next couple of years," famed divorce lawyer Raul Felder said.
Baring an ironclad prenuptial agreement, Cynthia Rodriguez "has an excellent argument" that the Yankee slugger reached his celebrity zenith in their five years of marriage.
"You're going to need armies of accountants here because somebody has to compute what the celebrity status is worth," Felder said. "When we look back it may turn out that she ends up with more than half."
And what a half it is:
A-Rod earns about $29 million a year from the Yankees, more than the entire payroll of the Florida Marlins. He makes an additional $6 million annually in commercial endorsements. Sports Illustrated has estimated he'll make $445 million over the course of what would be a 24-year baseball career at the end of his newly inked $275 million, 10-year contract with the Bombers.
A-Rod and his wife own a $12 million, 8,310-square-foot mansion near Coral Gables, Fla., and recently bought a $13.5 million penthouse on the upper East Side.
The reigning American League MVP owns millions of dollars in rental properties in New York and Florida. He also owns a 22-seat Gulfstream jet worth more than $30 million.
Divorce experts also said Rodriguez could wind up paying a heavy chunk of his income on child support for the couple's two children, 3-year-old Natasha and 10-week-old Ella Alexander.

*Some 18 years after Lenny Kravitz and Madonna collaborated on her dance hit "Justify My Love," the pair finds themselves linked again – this time through tabloid headlines surrounding New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and his wife.

Kravitz released a statement early Thursday addressing reports that Cynthia Rodriguez spent four days in Paris shacking up with the rocker.

"There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself," Kravitz said. "This is unequivocally 100 percent not true.

New York has been abuzz with rumors that Rodriguez is dating pop icon Madonna. Local papers said the ball player made several late night visits to her Manhattan apartment.

Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg released a statement Wednesday claiming Madonna and A-Rod are "just friends" who have the same agent.

Sucks to be rich and getting divorced, especially when the legal standard for spousal support is - enough money to maintain the spouse's accustomed lifestyle during the marriage.

Divorce law sucks.... get a pre-nup!

A-rod says........

“You want to start the test, and then introduce the urine cup into the stream. What you want to capture is the middle of the stream. Not the beginning or not the end of the stream," Bosch said when asked by Scott Pelley of CBS about A-Rod passing drug tests. "That was extremely important, because most of the metabolites are either in the beginning of the stream or are at the end of the stream. It’s that precise

Pre-nups don't work. The female will say she was under stress, rushed, really caught up in the emotions of up-coming wedding, didn't really understand the thing she was signing, she was under pressure to sign, she was having her "special time". Contracts with females are pretty much worthless.

Has 400 million. Now has 100 million. Do they really even feel the difference?

It's like Sheldon or whatever his name is. You've got 20 billion dollars. What is the difference between 30 billion and 2 billion dollars? Seriously.

I agree. I never got it either. Maybe because I have never lived the high life but to me 2 million dollars would feel the same as 2 billion dollars. Manning should just take 500K a year. He has signed over 200 million just for playing; not counting endorsements or his Papa John ownership. Not to mention he has a job immediately upon retirement if he wants it. He has 1 more chance to win big and that is it.

That is undrestandable.

However, with regards to Vlad's comment in the sports world, I believe Vlad is right. Manning already has 600 billion locked up and maybe he'll make 1 million interest per month for the rest of his life. Whatever. It's actually EV+ for him to sign for the minimum and use the cash to bring in other quality players. Just suppose it's his last year.

Is he going to be happy because he made 15 million more that year or because he gave that money to bring in some other studs and they went farther in the playoffs.

Probably the money, playoffs, must win games and championships mean more to us than these professionals. Most of them have huge egos.
My uncle was a professional baseball player so I got to be around a lot of these type of guys growing up and most are very into themselves and yes they do gamble.
