Hello -

I am completely amazed at how badly I was ripped off by Sportingbet. They have handled it so poorly since then that I am considering closing my account immediately.

I placed a wager on the first half of the Indiana Pacers game earlier this week. I layed $1,500 on the game to go UNDER. The wager was accepted and my account balance was reduced by $1,500. It also showed as an open play so everything was cool. The wager was placed at least 10 minutes before tipoff.

About 205 minutes later I go back to play the 8:00 PM NBA game and I notice that my account balance is higher. After checking, I see that my wager was cancelled. I get on their Live Chat function and talk to Randy. He tells me 'London is closed' so write an e-mail to the manager.

A day goes by and no response. I contact Randy again on chat and he says it will be addressed today. Here is the response that I received:

'Dear Sir

Thank you for your email regarding your wager. With ref to bet #3025267 in your finance history, the bet is displayed as attempted then rejected, so you would have received a rejection message, this would have also
reflected in your balance the funds would be automatically returned to your account as
soon as the whole bet process had gone through.'

Well that is completely untrue. The wager WAS accepted by their system as it was verified in the Open Plays and also by my account balance being debited the $1,500.

As it turns out the wager was a winner so I feel completely cheated by Sportingbet. They oew me this account balance for the winning wager. I am very disappointed and am ready to close my account.

This has happened to me many many times at sportingbet! Sometimes the software rejects the bet. BUT sometimes their damn software accepts the wager, it deductsa it from your balance but later for some reason the wager disappears, you cannot find it anywhere, not even the cancelled wager appears in your acct history!

Also, sometimes when you place the wager, it processes the wager one or two more times even if you press the SUBMIT buttom one time! then it starts to cancel the wagrers one by one except the first wager! I played MLB there everyday so I know what you're talking about!

I would strongly recommend you play at the elite books like: Olympic, WSEX, Pinnacle. I would not go near Sportingbet.

I have had similar software problems with Sportingbet, and "The Case of The Disappearing Bet" is all too real.

This is Sportingbet.com, by the way, not SportingbetUSA.

Me too. If I think there's a problem I call the toll free number.

The really annoying thing is voided wagers disappear from the account history.

this is basically a bug in their software, they have had it for a year or so but have not yet fixed it.

My advice is to log out, then log in again and check the bet history. If the bet is there then note the reference in case you later have some need to provide some support you had an active bet.

If the bet is not there - which is all too likely I am afraid - repeat the process. If the same thing happens 3 times pack in. I think this is their software's way of telling you they already have enough action on the line, why they can't just say that instead of all the mucking around is beyond me.

My previous concerns about their sahort termliquidity are now lessened, as they have sorted out most of the earn-outs and net debt is pretty low now. But they need profitablity and long term cash inflows to really have a viable business,

this is not the first complaint i hear from sportingbet.com.
at least 2 cancelled bets AFTER the event last month.
plus a pending payout after more than 3 weeks due to "system problems". i wonder they have never system-problems when taking players money.
after all that it seems to dangerous using them now,so i quit.

Is that just with sportingbet.com? I recently posted up (light) with sports.com and I don't want to get screwed (I know somewhere here someone mentioned they're under the sportingbet umbrella). I usually only play at Pinnacle, Olympic and Intertops but I figured I'd give this one a try since I've read positive things about them. Thanks in advance for the info.

IMO I'd get a program like Snag-It and take proper screenshots of your pending wagers after you make them. I do that regardless for my own sake (I'm sure ripoff books won't care about screenshots but IMO it's good for me to have it in case I have a problem). Just a thought.

My only thought as I read this was, does the dissapearing software work when you lose a bet?

In my experience, if the bet "disappears", it does so within the first 5 minutes of placing the bet. Other folks may have had different experiences, though.

i don't think sportingbet is a theft issue - in the way SIA and similar books steal money by deciding whether to void or not AFTER a result is known.

Sportingbet has a software glitch which they should have fixed months ago but due to negligence or incompetence have not yet fixed.

Anyone with serious complaints should riase them with Sportingbet's regulators, who are the UK gaming authorities. Unlike some so-called regulators what they say does carry some clout.

Sorry Excell just saw your post:

If you have your screen up press and hold ctrl and then press the "print screen" button. That will put a copy of your screen on your clipboard. Then open up a program like Microsoft Word (Word processors are good for this) and press and hold ctrl and press the v key. This will paste a copy of your screen into a document and you can save it there.

Hope this helps....

shopsafe- That is not right. I would be very pissed too! I mean, if I placed a bet there, I would be checking on the sucker every 5 miniutes till tip-off. What if you one places a bet, it gets confirmed, you print the ticket and the confirmed message and 10 minutes later their system deletes your bet. Your telling me they will not honor that bet? That is hogwash!! This is a SERIOUS problem that Sportingbet must address!!

Sportingbet should definately address with all these verifications of the problem. Seems a screenshot is a must here.

Fish, what we discussed this AM. Nevermind! I've changed my mind
