The Indiana Hoosiers are favored by 7 over the Alabama Crimson Tide!…a new era is upon us…I grew up in the Midwest and my friends and I would always try to make a case for the Big Ten over the SEC…soft non conference schedule, they never play in adverse weather conditions, etc, but deep down we knew top to bottom they had the strongest, deepest conference…NIL and the the portal has created what the south hates to hear, equality and inclusion has come to college football!

At least wait until the game is over, the spread means nothing on the field

The SEC generally holds a historical edge over the Big Ten in head-to-head college football, especially in bowl games, with recent decades showing SEC dominance (e.g., 2000s, 2010s), though the Big Ten had a strong recent run (early 2020s bowls/playoffs). While overall series favor the SEC (around 68-36 in bowls by 2024), recent years (2020s) have seen the Big Ten challenge, with some sources pointing to Big Ten strength in recent CFP/Bowl matchups, even as some analyses still rate the SEC for overall depth and top-tier strength.

Just to clarify, the SEC has always been the best, deepest conference, especially in the trenches…but now, with college football = to the wild, wild, west, I see the end of an era…they’ll always be strong, but I think the fear factor will be gone.

Agree. NIL has leveled the playing field. The SEC has been paying players for decades. They all did it, and every SEC school knew others were doing it, but no one would turn the other in. It's obvious with the drop off in the quality of teams in the SEC over the last several years. Saban even said that he was very concerned about Texas and a&m with the amount of money that each school has. He acknowledged that Alabama can't come close to Texas oil money that ends up funding so much in Texas.

This is what happens when all teams can pay their players the way the SEC always has.
Gone are the days of stacking every position 4-5 deep with 4 star players.
Now every kid has a chance to start somewhere and not be 3rd on the depth chart.

Couldn't be happier about where CFB is headed

Indiana has play two good teams, Ohio State and Oregon. They had trouble with Old Dom, Iowa and Penn.st. The rest was bigger cupcakes other than maybe Illinois who was half ass at best. Hosiers in week nine was chanting they wanted Bama.......well here is their chance. Bama has been in the BIG game many times; I think the bright lights and the rat poison will be too much for the Heisman and his boys. Bama wins in a barn burner.
