Week 1 in the NFL has passed without Colin Kaepernick on an NFL roster. Yet, at the same time, Scott Tolzien and Tom Savage started NFL games.Richard Sherman has defended Kaepernick in the past, and after seeing the dreadful quarterback play from Week 1, the Seahawks cornerback doubled down on his stance that Kaepernick absolutely deserves a job in the NFL.

For @RSherman_25, there’s no doubt why Colin Kaepernick is unsigned.

In a video with The Players' Tribune, Sherman spoke about the Seahawks' upcoming matchup with the 49ers. Knowing that Kaepernick questions would come this week, Sherman didn't hesitate to voice his support for the former 49ers quarterback.
He said:

"But naturally, we're playing San Fran, they're gonna ask about Kaepernick. And does he deserve a job? Of course he deserves a job. You saw the quarterback play throughout the league, and it was terrible.
"What happened to Indianapolis. You saying they couldn't use Kaepernick? That's crazy talk, but it's unfortunate that a man is unemployed right now who is a pretty good ball player, won his fair share of ball games. There are lesser-talented guys employed because they didn't stand up for a cause. Sometimes it's not about winning, it's not about losing, it's about making a statement. And not bringing drama and stress to your organization. And that's the decision some of these teams are making, unfortunately."

Tolzien, for example, threw for just 128 yards and two interceptions while replacing the injured Andrew Luck. Andy Dalton struggled mightily with four interceptions and no touchdowns. Overall, six quarterbacks posted sub-70 QB ratings in Week 1. Kaepernick's QB rating in 2016 was 90.7.

when there was talk about the seahawks getting him, Sherman should have held out and refused to play if they didn't give kap a job.

and why would a team that didn't start well or had horrible qb's to start, go Outside and sign kap, when they have backups ...

Agreed he should shut the STFU.

Richard Sherman is yet another POS who likes to stir the racial pot...

Right !

and it shouldn't be a race thing because Houston went with Deshaun Watson last night over savage.

The Colts will start Jacoby Brissett this week over Tolzien .

So he SHOULD STFU !!

well he would have a job with the Ravens right now if his girlfriend didn't call out Ray Lewis as an Uncle Tom. If Kap and his gal can't respect an organization with a black GM then he'll just have to pander to become BET's game day expert

Scott Tolzien and Bryan Hoyer are worthy of playing though.

If any organization needs someone "snuffed out".... Ray might be able to help with that?

It is a smart move. He plays defensive back. Of course he wants Kaepernick to have a starting job.

I actually like Richard Sherman, or at least respect the fact that he is more intelligent than 99% of the league.

This crap is getting old.

If you have a high profile job in the private sector and you do something to piss off the customer base you're sent packing. Anyone who has a job gets it and acts accordingly.

Race has nothing to do with it except it seems to be mostly blacks who don't get this simple principle.
