Florida St has lost two in a row to Wake. The key one was two years ago. FSU lost at home to Wake 30-0. You probably don't remember that or care. But the FSU players remember. Bowden mentioned a few weeks ago he has no trouble getting the team up for Wake this year. I'd say its pretty much circled.

Wake I think is in a bad schedule area. They arent really shuffled into the mix where they could get lost a bit. They are the first 1-A team FSU will play and FSU is angry at them.

FSU offense is looking better. Considering the competition they played, still some things stick out.

1) they have a ground game
2) their QB's are a lot better than Drew and both can scramble, which defenses havn't had to worry about with Drew.
3) the WR's depth and playmaking is a lot better.

Welcome back this week Preston Parker.

Problem areas-

Still a lot of academic scandal suspensions. It hurts. DL especially is thinned out.

FSU's starting kicker Chase Gano is hurt, the kicker playing has been erratic, even by FSU standards.

I like Wake as a team and maybe they can take advantage of the problem areas. they have a problem of their own which is their new OL isnt opening up holes for their ground game.

I think this could be a statement type game for FSU. If they don't roll, I at least like the chances of them winning by at least 7.

FSU -4.5 10 units

YTD 4-4 -.4 units

this is a very good play. wake is overrated and that 30-0 game was probably the worst ive seen fsu play in 10 years. noles could take this one by 14+.

I have a pretty strong lean to WF this week, but you make some valid points (although it's definitely a biased write-up). I really love UT getting a TD at home also, but lean against Minnesota. They're a bad, bad team. FAU could beat them this week.

Prodigy good to see you around. Have to believe FSU has huge edge in overall athletes and Wake goes as Riley Skinner goes. Huge test for FSU but like the 14+ winner prediction as well.

I'm not convinced FSU has a running game. Being able to run on WCU and UT-Chat. doesn't really count.

Surrency is a difference maker at WR though. I look for Ponder to throw it up early and often, and for Alphonso Smith to get absolutely dominated and beat down by FSU's large receivers.

So long as FSU goes 4-wide and doesn't stick to short out-routes, they should be able to toss it up to their talented WR's all day.

On defense, the 'Noles look aggressive as ever. Not sure if that's a good thing as it's what usually gets them killed against Wake and all it's misdirection, but if Wake's OL struggles at all, then FSU still has all the talent in the world on the defensive side of the ball capable of shutting down any Wake running game. And with the secondary being FSU's strength, I'm not too worried about Skinner. He beat us last year with a lot of bail-outs to his TE. I just don't see lightning striking twice in that regard.

Special teams Wake has the definite edge, and that's the one thing that scares me.

Still think FSU has the advantage in this one; just too many athletes on offense and defense and a new quarterback that should be able to get the ball in the hands of those athletes. Homer pick, but I'm taking FSU.

Wake has been better disciplined team and a smarter team. With short time to prepare for them, they have an edge. If they are sandwiched in between BC and Clemson on a schedule, they get a bit lost.

FSU has probably been preparing for them this time for a long time. Wake is ranked and its a conference game. Thats enough to get the coaches attention. The players are in because many of them lost to Wake 30-0 at home. If they cant win this by 7, another long season coming.

I see Criminoles running towards the end zone as if the police are after them.

I bankrolled Wake +4.5. FSU is awful and has half of their team suspended.

Betting UT is a loser too.

FSU suspensions, actually pretty light on important players. Weakened DL. Linebackers, secondary still strong. Patrick Robinson would be nice to have though.

Budd Thacker returns to the DL this week, important key addition. Gano ( kicker, punter) is practicing ( has a knee injury, hasnt played yet this year) , if he can play its a big help.

to gosooners- FSU didnt get "revenge" last year because they probably werent the best team on the fiekld when they played Wake. Also Xavier Lee started the last two games at QB vs Wake. It doesnt get worse than that.

The following FSU players will be missing for the Wake game:

Dekoda Watson LB-*starter*
Paul Griffin DT-*starter*
Bud Thacker DT-*starter* (MAY be returning for the Wake game)
Justin Mincey DT-key backup
Patrick Robinson CB-*starter*
Caz Piurowski TE-*starter*
Brandon Davis OL
Marcus Sims RB (2nd string RB)

Preston Parker will be back for the Wake game.

if anything the suspensions are being overrated. Everyone knows they are there, but on paper it really isnt very severe.
