Republican's. Question about Palins answer regarding the VP

There was a question towards the end that stated something about what role or amount of control should the VP play in the administration.

Palins answer sounded like she wanted to expand the role of the VP and to have more control.

How did you guys feel about that?

The only actual duty of a VP is to cast the deciding vote in the Senate if needed...Other than that they serve the President in any or no capacity. In history there have been many VP's who did nothing, didnt agree with the Pres and was a thorn in his side more than anything else. Bush gave Cheney status because he wanted to, Quayle did nothing cus thats wat they wanted...Gore did nothing.....well cus he couldnt. Kennedy hated Johnson....etc, etc.....
In the total scheme of things the VP is the least of the issues....

with regards to Palin's answer, (if elected) she has no business taking on more repsponsibility as VP. Looks like she wants to be the next Dick Cheney.

If the President wants to expand the roll of the VP in developing policy, it is his pleasure to do so.

Do you remember two presidents for the price of one? Clinton had the first lady involved in shaping public policy for the first two years of his administration. After Newt grabbed Congress in a massive defeat for Bubba, Hillary began baking cookies and writing some book about Village Idiots.

Anyhow, the President is free to lean on any advisers he so chooses.
