Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a former 2016 Republican presidential candidate who is an adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, has opted against accepting a Cabinet position in the Trump administration, his spokesman said on Tuesday.
Carson, a popular writer and speaker in conservative circles, has been a close adviser to Trump and is a vice chairman of Trump's transition team.
He has been mentioned as a possible secretary of health and human services or education.
Carson's business manager, Armstrong Williams, said Carson has made clear he has no experience in running a federal bureaucracy.
"Dr. Carson doesn't feel like that's the best way for him to serve the president-elect," Williams told Reuters.
He said Carson would remain a close adviser of Trump and a friend. "His life has not prepared him to be a Cabinet secretary," Williams said.

:WTF:

Why not Dr. Carson as Surgeon General?

C'mon Ben, at least let Trump get back your brain surgeon license!

Poor guy would probably have to reapply individually to all 50 states. Can only imagine the red tape involved...

Btw, Ben...the fact that you have no government experience is actually a GOOD thing. The last thing our government needs is more already entrenched bureaucrats...

He seems like a nice guy but doesn't he as a man of science reject evolution?

I understand someone of science believing in intelligent design, but completely rejecting evolution? That's bizarre and makes me worry about his mental state

He believes in God, so not bizarre at all. People of faith tend to believe in Creationism.

You can believe God used evolution as the tool to create different creatures (intelligent design)

Evolution is about as accepted as the law of gravity in the scientific community. It's strange to me that he thinks this way after no doubt being aware of all the logic and evidence supporting evolution.

In fact, the sequence of creation in the bible mirrors the evolutionary timeline, and Genesis was written long before Charles Darwin or the fossil record was examined.

There's only a very small segment of the society who cares anything about how the earth was formed or how humans came into being. That includes scientists, and, yes, doctors.

It's an esoteric subject for which there are no real answers. Just unsubstantiated debates. Useless debates if you ask me or most other Americans.

#1. Intelligent Design theory doesn't even address evolution. I think the term you are looking for is theistic evolution

#2. I am well versed in the current peer-reviewed papers that deal with Darwinism, and it's far from being universally accepted. My prediction, is that
the theory will continue to crumble, as it is clearly false. If you would like some up-to-date reading on the subject, read these:

Also, watch this video. I'm actually good friends with Stephen Meyer... Check out the peer-reviewed biology paper on proteins around the 12:00
mark which shows that Darwinian theory is virtually impossible.

Oh I agree but not all people think alike. To each his own.
