Throughout the NFL Draft process, perhaps in an attempt to drive up demand for his professional football services, Johnny Manziel has often talked without fear of embracing the challenge of turning around a losing team.

But is it all a public smokescreen?

According to an SI.com report, the 2012 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback is not thrilled with the possibility of being drafted by the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars.

The apparent reason? It's not the recent losing, but instead the 32nd-ranked market size in the NFL that supposedly concerns Johnny Football when it comes to branding his future superstar.

Manziel's agent Erik Burkhardt flatly denied the report on Wednesday, telling Profootballtalk.com the report was "not true." This comes on the heels of a separate report Wednesday that there is growing momentum toward the Houston Texans selecting the Texas A&M star No. 1 overall.

The same SI.com report also says Manziel's family members are quietly wishing for the Texans to pass on Johnny Football, hoping Manziel can avoid the distractions and potential partying pitfalls of living, working and possibly playing in his hometown.

Manziel is clearly the most polarizing player in this year's draft, with plenty of on-field positives to balance against concerns over his lack of size, as well as his lifestyle off the field.

I hope this guy is a Huge Bust

Why? If he is successful he is gonna be 1 of the most entertaining players in the league. I'm not sold on if his style will work or not, but if it does he'll be more effective, modern day Doug Flutie.

if I had a gun to my head I'd probably bet on him busting. There is really no precedence for someone like him succeeding in the NFL. He basically plays like its a video game and his athleticism/physical ability allow him to get away with stuff that nobody else has before.

Could maybe see him having a few good years before the league catches up to him too. It just seems like it'll be really hard for him to stay healthy and continuously make the type of plays he needs to make to be successful.

If I'm the Raiders or whatever I'd take the chance though. What is the worst that can happen? It doesn't work and you suck? You suck anyway, might as well gamble!

Right, but he says he is the best.

I just don't think he will be as good in the Pros as he was in College.

I also don't think he is that Great overall ( including College )

he also needs to STFU, he runs his mouth too much.

Maybe it's just me

Manziel serves notice to teams who pass him up in draft

Johnny Manziel undoubtedly is the most polarizing prospect in this year’s NFL draft. And there is certainly no shortage of rumors flying regarding where he will go in the Draft.

The Texas A&M quarterback is extremely talented, but his size and off-the-field lifestyle raise red flags for NFL teams that might think about picking him (hence the variety of opinions over landing spot). But one thing is for certain when it comes to the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner:

He sure is confident.

"I believe they will, personally," Manziel told ESPN Wednesday when asked if teams will regret passing on him once Roger Goodell begins calling out names on Thursday in New York.

"I know in my heart how good I want to be and how committed I am to this game."

Manziel harped on the fact that the partying that was a problem at A&M, as well as concerns that he cares more about fame than football, shouldn’t turn away teams.

"(Teams) have been getting to know me on a more personal level, and I've answered every question, anything they’ve wanted to hear from me — so there’s nothing for me to hide. I don’t think it’s wrong of me to enjoy my life and have fun. But throughout this whole process, I’ve continued to work hard and do that thing I need to do to become a better player."

Manziel has been linked to several teams, including the Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders (holders of Picks 1 through 5), as well non-top-5 teams (most notably the Dallas Cowboys, who own the No. 16 pick). Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has since denied that the team will go for a first-round quarterback, but the others are very real possibilities.

Among the latest reports, the Denver Post reported Wednesday that Manziel most likely would go to the Jaguars. It also had been reported that Manziel wanted to avoid Jacksonville, not because of the team’s losing record in 2013, but rather because its status as the league’s smallest market would be bad for his fame. Manziel’s agent has denied that report.

He is Mike Vick without the arm strength and not as fast, but quicker. He will be wrecked by week 10.

why? When is the last time there was so much hype about a player coming into the NFL?

Hint: Also a Heisman Trophy winning SEC Quarterback who also won the National Championship. He also had plenty people question his true ability and if he was worthy of a 1st round selection. When all was said and done, he was a bust. Just like Manziel will be.

When will people learn. If you are picked #1 overall as a QB, you have to be good enough to singlehandedly turn a franchise around, this draft has a bunch of medicocre starters. These GM's are too stupid to drink my piss.

Okay Steamplay, here is a post you can bump in 5 years to make me look bad...I think Jonathan Fucking Football (JFF) ultimately makes a splash in the NFL and grabs all of the headlines. Especially if he is a first year starter. But after his first season, the floor will begin to raise and ceiling will start to lower for him. And he'll never have another year again like his first season. Either injuries or his reckless lifestyle or both will end up doing him in.
