If looking for OPPURTUNITIES to wager on is considered being in ACTION, than yes very much so.

However, I take a very conservative approach overall to my actual investments in gambling be it video poker, slots, or sportsbetting.

I will grind the enemy to death.

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The New York Yankees can earn a split of their four-game series with the Boston Red Sox when the teams meet Monday morning at Fenway Park.

New York avoided dropping its third straight in this series with Sunday's 7-3 victory. Gary Sheffield, Jorge Posada and Bernie Williams all had RBI doubles in a six-run third inning that knocked out Derek Lowe.

The Yankees received a spectacular effort from their bullpen, which yielded just three hits in 6 2/3 innings in relief of an ineffective Jose Contreras. Paul Quantrill worked 2 2/3 innings for his first win with New York.

Boston has yet to win more than two straight this season. The Red Sox are 4-3 entering the final game of a homestand that has been reduced to eight games due to rain.

Pitching matchup:

New York - Kevin Brown (3-0, 1.29); 2003 vs. Boston (0-2, 24.92).

Boston - Bronson Arroyo (0-1, 8.53); 2003 vs. New York (2-0, 5.55).

Who's Hot:

New York - SS Derek Jeter, nine-game hitting streak, walked twice on Sunday - his first walks since his streak began.

Boston - LF Manny Ramirez, 5-for-12 with four RBI this series.

Who's Not:

New York - 3B Alex Rodriguez, 0-for-12 this series and has no RBI since April 7; 1B-DH Jason Giambi, 2-for-20 in last eight games.

Boston - 1B David Ortiz, 1-for-12 this series; SS Pokey Reese, 0-for-10 this series.

2004 Series: Boston, 2-1; All-time series: New York, 1,061-881.

Injuries:

New York - CF Kenny Lofton (strained right quadricep, 15-day DL); RHP Jorge De Paula (sprained right elbow, 15-day DL); RHP Steve Karsay (right shoulder, 60-day DL); RHP Jon Lieber (right groin, 15-day DL); LHP Felix Heredia (finger, 15-day DL); RHP Orlando Hernandez (right shoulder, 15-day DL).

Boston - SS Nomar Garciaparra (Achilles tendon, 15-day DL); OF Trot Nixon (herniated disk, 15-day DL), RHP Byung-Hyun Kim (right shoulder, 15-day DL).

well cut to it then

who do you guys like?

I think if the sox can get to Brown early then it will be a game - but if arroyo doesnt come into the 2nd or 3rd with a lead then it will be trouble for the sox.

The better part of the sox pen should be rested and ready to help out IF they can get some runs - then they can yank arroyo and put in the situation guys early.

Chances are though things will even out and brown will continue his success IMO.

I think Arroyo is extremely mediocre and will bet against him lots, but I can't lay the heavy juice on the road, in a rivalry, with Brown's history vs Sox, etc.
For me it's a pass, there is better value out there.

I'm going with Brown until he loses. This guy has his mojo working and is happy as a pig in shlt with his favorite team. It's like having home field advantage squared. Unfortunately the linesmakers are slowly catching on as his stats pile up but there is still value in the line. I think a fair price is about -190 so anything better than -180 is a hit.
