Under pressure at home and abroad, Mr. Obama said that—following a strategy review—the U.S. will maintain the current American force of 9,800 troops in Afghanistan through most of next year and leave a force of 5,500 U.S. troops in the country in 2017, after he leaves office.

In condominiums, only owners get to vote for the board members. Or they can proxy their vote and let management decide. Renters who come and go don't have any equity in the building and therefore don't care how it's maintained and run. Consequently renters don't have a voice, nor should they. I can already hear the screeching - "Ooooo, so unfair!" Then become an owner.

That is how it works in the free market and exactly how the political system should work: owners get to vote; everyone else has to accept the outcome.

Liberals love to whine about the "common good"...the truth is people on welfare (and every other bloated self-serving parasite feeding at the public trough, with the exception of the military soldier for whom the country is indebted to) don't have any incentive to vote responsibly. In fact it's the opposite - the Pauls will always vote for corrupt politicians with the largest bribes.

I'm not talking about the richest .0001% of the population living on an island. I'm talking about principles. In other words, people who believe in individualism, limited government, responsibility, etc. That doesn't only include fabulously wealthy people. Not every conservative is a multi billionaire. On the other side, dimocraps would have their free for all paradise. No guns, universal health care, "equality" for all, you could tax business owners at a 100% rate, wide open borders, etc. Whatever the hell you want...anything goes on your side.
