Very easily. I do believe Reggie Bush is a RB, a RB many here said would rival LT, Faulk, Sanders, and Sayers among others. He was the #2 overall pick in the draft which means he is SUPPOSED to put up huge numbers and yes, do so in his rookie year.

Who cares that he is on pace to catch 88 passes? If he continued at his current pace (which he won't) he would have to have the least yards of any player ever to catch that many passes EVER (and I am not wasting my time looking it up).

Reggie Bush has not done SQUAT running the ball which is what Running backs are supposed to do. They are throwing him 2 yard hitch passes to justify his lack of effectiveness as a RB and to justify paying him so much. Why keep the $100,000 car in the garage, right? As for return yards, he has been a MAJOR disappointment there too. How many thought he wouldn't return kickoffs and would be a part-time punt returner. Outside of one long punt return which he had a blockade for, he has done NOTHING.

Deuce McCalister and Brees were both Pro-bowlers BEFORE Bush came to town and Colston will be one himself. Horn has also made the Pro-Bowl. If you think D-coordinators are game-planning to stop Bush you have the TV turned up too loud. Michael Vick he is NOT. And now we are starting to get the excuses from Bush himself (the ankle has hurt since week 1). Who would've gusses that Leon Washington, Wali Lundy, Joseph Addai, Lawrence Maroney, Maurice-Jones-Drew and Jarius Norwood would be more productive runners than Bush? Let alone that Bush wouldn't run for AT LEAST a measly 1,000 yards his rookie year with his Heisman hardware and being the #2 overall picks.

The better stat to look up would be how many RB's licked in the top 3 in the draft have rushed for LESS yards through 7 games and weren't sitting out due to injury or holdout. My guess would be NOT MANY

His official title is RB but he has always been more than just a RB. He never was the take the rock 30+ times a game traditional back. He was a player used all over the field trying to get him the ball no matter what position he lines up as.

The fact you can't admit this & are basing what his whole career will be about halfway thorugh his ROOKIE season shows what kind of fucking idiot you are.

I agree its a little too early to make forgone conclusions on Reggie Bush. This is why I am biting my tongue about Matt Linert. Not going to say see I told you so about him for at least the rest of the season, although, I am getting my speech ready. :puppy:

now there is one we can agree on, and i thought he would be a bust, he's just so damn slow, there are plenty of tight ends faster than this guy...

This coming from the same man who bet a ton on Oklahoma to beat USC. The same man claiming a bust during a rookie season. This is the same man saying Bush isn't a decoy when game film proves otherwise. Jesus your obsession with hating USC & certain players is sick.

boise state vs. louisville
boise state vs. boston college
boise state vs. georgia
boise state vs. oregon state LY

has zabransky led this boise team to a big win in his time in the program? broncos are a terrific team. but they get a lot of media hype despite having not recorded a big win over a legitimate power conference team in recent memory.

From Yahoo Sports: If you don't want to listen to me, maybe the NFL "insiders" will suffice:

WHAT'S WRONG WITH REGGIE?
After Baltimore shut down New Orleans Saints rookie running back Reggie Bush on Sunday, limiting him to nine touches for a total of 21 yards, the simmering talk around the NFL became a full-blown discussion: Is Bush all that good?
Right now, the people who thought that the way he played at USC wouldn't translate to the NFL appear to be right. Still, there are a few people who think that Bush just hasn't learned how to take advantage of his raw skills.
"Right now, I see a weaker version of Dave Meggett," one scout said. "Good speed, a guy you have to account for, but he doesn't run very hard. The worst thing is that I don't see the guy attack the field very much right now. He looks tentative, like he's not sure where all the defensive guys are."
To another personnel man, that's part of the growing process.
"A lot of young guys are tentative, particularly in the passing game, because they're not used to the speed and all the bodies that come flying at them. Bush has plenty of talent, that's not the problem. The problem is that this is total culture shock in terms of what he went from to what he's seeing.
"First, he was way better than everybody else. Second, he was surrounded by a bunch of other guys who were way better than everybody else. The last thing is that the style of game they play in the Pac-10 is different. It's a passing league right now and the defensive talent in that conference is just average. It's not like the SEC, where you have a lot of great defensive players, fast linebackers, fast safeties.
"Bush is going to be fine. It's just going to take a little time."
The bottom line: Bush's season not only pales in comparison to several other rookies in the league, but he doesn't rank among the top two rookie running backs. For now, fellow first-round picks Laurence Maroney of New England and Joseph Addai of Indianapolis get the nod as the top rookie backs.
Maroney has rushed 94 times for 395 yards and caught nine passes for 110 yards. He also has been impressive as a kickoff returner. Addai, who slowly appears to be taking over as the top back in Indy after his performance at Denver, has rushed 87 times for 447 yards and one touchdown. He also has 19 receptions for 144 yards.
By contrast, Bush has been nearly a non-factor as a running back with 70 carries for 212 yards. He has been a consistent threat as a receiver with 42 catches for 290 yards. But the overall impact among the three has been about the same.
Maroney, who splits time with Corey Dillon, has 505 total yards from scrimmage. Addai, who splits time with Dominic Rhodes, has 591 yards from scrimmage. Bush, who splits time with Deuce McAlister, has 502 yards.
While people can argue the ins and outs of all three players and the teams they play for, the reality is that Bush was the No. 2 overall pick. Maroney was No. 21. Addai was No. 30.
The argument over who is the best of the three shouldn't be close.

11 carries for -5 yards. Are you freaking kidding me????

What an absolute joke this guy is, a total media hype creation. Marques Colston is the only rookie that matters on the Saints, and they are winning DESPITE Bush, not one drop because of him. Spin it how you want

How do you shrug off 11 carries for NEGATIVE 5 yards for the "greatest college football player of all time"

Reggie Bush has parted ways with his marketing agent, Mike Ornstein, a controversial figure who helped Bush land about $50 million in endorsement deals before the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner even signed his rookie contract with the New Orleans Saints, Yahoo! Sports has learned.
Ornstein revealed his split with Bush when he called a New Orleans-area businessman last week and canceled a $5,000 order for 120 turkeys that Bush planned to give to Saints players and team officials for Thanksgiving, said Glenn Mistich, owner of the Gourmet Butcher Block that filled the order.

A second source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said Bush had fired Ornstein.
Ornstein hung up the phone when a reporter identified himself, and he did not return a subsequent phone message. Bush declined to comment after the Saints' game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
In addition to losing his marquee client, Ornstein recently was subpoenaed by the U.S. Attorney's office to answer questions before a grand jury in Ohio. Ornstein received the summons on the opening week of the season, when New Orleans played at Cleveland on Sept. 10.
Four sources confirmed that Ornstein received the subpoena, and one said Ornstein was served in clear view of several witnesses. The subpoena is said to be related to Ornstein receiving Super Bowl tickets from the Cleveland Browns several years ago in exchange for the use of cars.
Ornstein was convicted – along with two others – of defrauding the NFL while he was a league employee in 1995.
In September, a Yahoo! Sports investigation showed that Bush and his family appear to have accepted improper cash and benefits from Ornstein, in potential violation of NCAA rules. The Pacific-10 Conference and NCAA are investigating the matter.
Ornstein was instrumental in helping Bush amass a fortune in endorsements and ingratiate himself to a New Orleans community still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
Negotiating on Bush's behalf, Ornstein secured deals with adidas, Pepsi and Hummer. He also hooked up with Subway and EA Sports video games in an unprecedented windfall for an NFL rookie. The deals were signed well before Bush agreed to a contract with the Saints that included a $26-million guaranteed bonus.
Ornstein also played a prominent role in helping Bush carve out a favorable image in New Orleans. Following the April 28 NFL draft, Bush and his sponsors donated more than $50,000 to Holy Rosary Academy to help keep the special-needs school operational, funded an $86,000 installation of a new playing surface at a stadium used by many of the area's high school football programs and arranged for Hummer to donate a dozen of its vehicles to the police department in a city adjacent to New Orleans.
Bush's charitable efforts also have included partnering with the international hunger relief organization Feed The Children, the NFL Players Association and Urban Impact Ministries to help deliver food and toiletries to needy families in New Orleans.

Not taking sides here but he is more of the 3rd down back and slot receiver.

Tiki Barber came into the league the same way, Warrick Dunn too...you can't judge his value just yet, he could end up being all they thought.

Dunn ran for 950+ yards his rookie year. Bush is on pace for 450 yards.

If Bush has anywhere near the career Dunn has, that would be pretty good (if he was someone else). Not when you are considered the greatest college player ever

Just because he was the greatest college player ever doesn't mean he has to be the greatest NFL player ever.
