Dolphins have always been running a gimmick offense for their rb's of late, so this might work out well.

The Reggie Bush era in New Orleans is over.

i

Bush
Adam Schefter reports Bush has agreed to a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, a deal that clears the way for the Saints to trade the player they drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in 2006. We don’t know what the Saints will receive as compensation yet, but anything they get is better than nothing, which is what they would have received if they simply cut Bush.

Also of significant importance, the Saints don’t have to pay Bush the $11.8 million he was scheduled to make in base salary this season. Throughout the offseason, the Saints implied they would like to keep Bush with a restructured contract. But Bush began throwing out mixed signals about his desires from the moment the team drafted running back Mark Ingram in the first round.

Although some people have called Bush a flat-out bust, I don’t think that’s an accurate portrayal of his time in New Orleans. He never put up the kind of huge numbers that you would expect from a running back drafted so early.

Part of that was due to injuries. Part of that was because Bush just wasn’t big enough to handle 25 carries a game between the tackles.

But it’s unfair to say Bush’s time with the Saints was a waste. He had his moments. He made some game-changing plays and his presence on the field always drew the attention of defenses. He had an impact, but it just wasn’t as big as you’d expect from someone with his draft position.

Now, the Saints will move on. Bush’s departure clears room in what was a very crowded backfield. The Saints have Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory.

I'm a huge believer that Reggie Bush will do really well on a team that is run heavy. If teams have to stack the box to stop the run then it will give Reggie the chance to do what he does best. In our system if Reggie breaks through the first level he still has several more levels of players to get past since defenses are more worried about stopping Drew and our pass happy offfense.

I think he would really thrive on a team like the Dolphins where teams are forced to drop 8 in the box to stop the running game and when Bush breaks through the first level he would have 1 on 1 opportunities to take it to the house.

Bush is gone I'll certainly miss knowing what he can do at any given moment. I really believe he would have gotten more touches here if he would have learned how to carry the ball without fumbling. Wish him the best of luck either way. Great guy on and off the field.

He proved 1 thing ....He isnt and never will be a between the tackles running back. The jury is still out if he will ever be a kick returner. just leaves the ball on the ground way to damn much.

Id hope they make him a 3rd down wide-out cus i seriously see no other uses for him.

Should be a good #2 to Daniel Thomas.

With Bush and Thomas, the Dolphins' offense will be tons of fun to watch. Whether or not it will be successful is another story, however.

Would love to see Orton behind center and the Phins could be quite formidable.

You can look at this 2 ways....

Either moving to the grass helps Reggie stay healthy unlike most of his career in New Orleans

Or

He won't be near as potent on grass than he was inside with the Saints

He seems to be very fragile. Don't know if that will work in Miami, but hey, Ronnie Brown played there for years.

Dolphins add QB Matt Moore on a 2 year deal and remove themselves from trading for QB Kyle Orton...gotta love that front office.
